  • Just have to say I love the title of this thread. I just started this site about a week ago. I am hoping to get great results and I'm focused on achieving my goal. Woo Hoo!:drinker:
  • Okay I admit. Lunch time is the hardest time for me as I normally go out to eat. The only positive is that I know that I eat my largest meal at noon each day. And I normally eat a small dinner. Plus, I work out in the afternoons so I burn off a lot of the lunch! Another thing: Our district has a nutritional chart for all…
  • My pet peeve are those inservices where they read to us from the handout they give us. I have never heard of GLAD, but it sounds interesting.
  • The last inservice we had ... It was awesome! hehehe... I was a presenter. LOL Anyways, yes, the end of the year stress *read mandatory testing* is upon us. I am not looking forward to this time. I don't have to give the big TAKS test but I still have goals to meet. I am confident that all will go well. We shall see. I…
  • Yay!!! I returned the other DVD without even seeing it. I am getting the 30-Day shred. Woo Hoo:drinker:
  • You are absolutely correct. A pound is still a pound irregardless of what it is. Muscle has more density by volume so 5lbs of fat is bigger in volume than 5lbs of muscle.
  • welcome back
  • Wow! How do you get around the FMNV guidelines? On Thursday we were told a number of times that we couldn't serve cupcakes because it was not one of our "free" days. It's so crazy. Everything we serve the kids has to meet guidelines. I know that's a good thing but sometimes it is a pain.
  • Hi all! I know I'm late to the game but I wanna join. I teach elementary school. I have been working hard for 3 weeks and have yet to see results. It's getting frustrating.
  • I am so upset. I ordered it from Netflix. 3 days in a row it said it was available. The day I am scheduled to get new movies. It pops up that there is a short wait. That sucks. Now I have to wait a bit longer for it to arrive. Not cool at all.
  • OMG, I am in the same boat you are. I am not losing much weight but I see the difference in the way my clothes fit. I am so frustrated right now that I feel like quiting.
  • I did Jillian's Cardio Kick Box. It was good. I'm a novice to this working out stuff so it was nice. I earned a lot of calories but I ended up not using them all because I was so tired. I wonder if it's a good idea to "bank" unused calories for the weekend. :ohwell:
  • congratulations!!!
  • Have fun!!
  • Okay Ladies, If you don't mind .. .I'm going to join this group. I ordered the DVD from Netflix. It should be arriving soon. I am hoping that the holiday weekend doesn't delay the arrival. In the meantime, I am going to stream another one of her workouts on the Xbox. I have been doing the Couch to 5K for nearly 2 weeks. I…
  • I don't have any tips. I just have well wishes! Good luck!!
  • thank you:smile:

  • I have a question for the runners and fitness folks. On my days off running (couch to 5k), can I do another exercise? Like the 30 day shred or billy blanks bootcamp? I want to do more exercise but I don't want to cause injury either. I just started the Couch to 5K and I'm on my second week of Week 1.

  • I don't have an answer for you but ... Good Job!!!
  • A group of what? I may be interested in joining you.

  • After reading this thread I decided to order this from netflix. If I like it I will buy it.
  • If you have an iPod, go to the iTunes store and browse the podcasts. I found lots of workout music and it was all free.
  • Why don't you just do it in intervals the way you normally do? 3.5 miles in 30 minutes is like running a <10 minute mile. That is a very good pace. Don't beat yourself up over this. Running a straight 3 miles is all about building up endurance. I am using the Couch to 5K to build my endurance. But it takes 9 weeks. Good…
  • I do like this site. I have been bragging about it all over work. I am hoping a few more join. Thanks for the welcome wishes.

  • I do use the iPod. I found these great links djsteveboy.com (he has intervals for 5k, 8k and 10k ullreys.com (I liked this one a lot better because it wasn't techno music.) I found them both through iTunes Store. And they were both free. I am so glad today is a day off.
  • I skipped this by mistake. I am me. Plain as can be. But happy to be me.

  • Thanks for all the great tips and encouragement. Right now I'm repeating Week 1. I'm not really interested in "time" but just being able to run 5K without feeling totally toasted in the end. I don't think that's much to ask.
  • I'm new to this community. And I'm glad to see that there are so many beginning runners. I just took it up. And I honestly, at this point in time, hate it but I do intend to stick with it. I signed up for a 5K and will run in it if it kills me. And it just might. LOL I am using the Couch to 5K in 9 Weeks but I know it will…
