Am I doing it wrong?

I started watching what I eat and increasing my water intake about a month ago. I joined curves 2 weeks ago and go 4 times a week. I have been faithfully logging my food in for 2 weeks and always come under except for my protein. In the 2 weeks at curves I have not lost any weight. I was pretty much sedentary prior to Curves so I am guessing no weight down is because I am building muscle. I have noticed certain areas like my thighs are losing thier bulging areas and looking more trim. So I understand no weight loss bc I am building muscle and muscle burns more then the fat. So when will I really start to see the scale move? I know no one knows for sure but does any have any expierance in this?

It sounds like you are doing things right. Make sure you aren't too far under with your food and be patient. Sometimes it takes time for good things to happen
  • I don't think you are doing anything wrong. These things just take time unfortunately. I have been a member of Curves since last July and I love it. The only thing I can suggest is that you might want to start walking a few days a week. Cardio always helps burn off those extra calories! I believe that is what they tell you too. Walk 30 minutes most days of the week and come to Curves 3 times a week. Good luck!

Building muscle is good but make sure to add some aerobic exercise in there too. Also, make sure you take your measurements to see if you are losing inches.

I jog in place on the recovery stations. My heart rate is 24-29 during the whole time. I am going to get the 30 day shred this weekend to add to it. I am also going to start walking 2-3 times a week on my half hour lunch break. I want to do this the right way. I lost over 100 lbs 5 years ago when I split from my ex. The divorce diet lol. Started gaining back in the past year. Have gained about 50 back. I am getting married 9/12 and have gotten great deals on 2 different dresses. 100 each. I love a good sale. One is a 12 and the other a 14. So no matter how much I lose or tone between now and then I am set. I am noticeably slimmer. Not so many rolls lol. It seems to be at even pace through out my body. I have a feeling once my body gets used to the new ways its going to click and really start to melt off. Patience is what I need and I have it but sometimes its a little upsetting not to see the scale move as well as the clothes fit better.

great job! 2 weeks is really too soon to be worried but even you said you're feeling a difference. You'll probably have more energy and get sick less often, too! keep it up!
  • I know what you mean. It is really frustrating not to see the scale moving when you are working so hard. Don't get discouraged! Just keep at it and the pounds will start falling off!! BTW...Congrats on your big day!

OMG, I am in the same boat you are. I am not losing much weight but I see the difference in the way my clothes fit. I am so frustrated right now that I feel like quiting.
