  • Great Post! I'm planning to buy PB2 tomorrow :-)
  • I'm a SAHM, and I homeschool our kids :-) Feel free to add me as a friend.
  • The beauty of using MFP, you can find the perfect caloric level...on days when you exercise and the days you don't. There is no one formula that fits all. Track at different caloric levels and foods, seeing what works best for you. I have friends who eat close to 2000 calories...I would gain if I did that, but they lose!…
  • In looking at your diary, the jerky and crackers may be causing you to retain fluid, due to the sodium. Also, I suggest eating more of a breakfast...it will jumpstart your metabolism. I'm not much of a breakfast eater, so I keep it simple. I like Jillian Michael's whey protein with unsweetened almond milk; banana & natural…
  • I agree..Jillian's workout dvd's make for a great, quick workout. Some are 20 min, but most are 30 min. Also, if you have a treadmill, you can do intervals. Warm up for a mile, then start the intervals. Makes for a great calorie burn :-)
  • I make this for my family and they love it! I replace the water with either beef broth or beer. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/awesome-slow-cooker-pot-roast/detail.aspx
  • I was diagnosed with RA seven years ago . Thankfully, I do pretty good these days. Discovering foods that cause flair ups was a huge help! Learning I can push past the pain was a Major breakthrough! I've taken up running and I've never felt better!! I have flair ups occasionally, but they're mainly due to the weather.
  • I'm a shorty, too! I stand tall at 5'2" I'm 38 with 4 kiddos. I began my weightloss journey nearly 3 years ago at 170. If I don't run and cross train, I stay around 118, otherwise, I stay between 125-126.
  • I completely agree with Carson! I only added in speed work when I became hooked on racing...I wanted to medal and set new PR's.
  • Speed work is a great thing to incorporate into your weekly training, if you are ready for it. You should only do speed work once a week. It's easier to do it at a track, where the distance is marked. I started with 4 x 400's. Fartlek and tempo runs are also good forms of speed training. If you run hills, or plan to race…
  • I finally found someone else that uses stevia...yay!! I'm going to try these! Thanks for posting :-)
  • Try adding fresh squeezed orange, lemon or lime juice and a zero calorie sweetener to club soda.
  • I prefer dri-fit shirts that are snug, but not skin tight; Compression leggings/pants or shorts; A dri-fit half zip/jacket; Sports bra. Cold weather running: gloves, ear muffs/warmer...just make sure you don't dress too warm! I'm a cold natured person, but I warm up really fast when running, so I normally wear a short…
  • Great way to keep us motivated!! I'm in for a 100 miles this month :-)
  • I'm a mom of 4 kiddos! I lost 52 lbs after the birth of my last child :-) One of the hardest things I've done, but it's totally worth it! You're doing the right thing by surrounding yourself by like-minded people!
  • You're doing Awesome!! It's amazing how much younger and vibrant you look now! When I lost weight, like you, I lost a lot in my face. I left my wallet at Wal-Mart and when I went to pick it up, the girl wouldn't give it to me, because I looked nothing like my DL photo!! I ended up having to verify items in my wallet :-)
  • Baked sweet potato, grilled veggies, asparagus, broccoli. One of my favorite sides..fresh green beans, mushrooms, and onions sauteed in olive oil.
  • It's one of those things, if you've never walked in those shoes, you just don't understand. For years, I was thin..could eat anything I pleased and never gained. I couldn't understand why some had weight issues.I'm ashamed to say this now, but I thought they were lazy. Then, thyroid disease hit and I put on 40 lbs and…
  • From what I've read, white tea is the best, with green tea being the second. Have you tried naturally flavored teas? Celestial Seasonings has some great teas. One of my favorites is peach blossom green tea with white tea. They also have a great line of holiday teas.
  • I have recently had gallbladder problems. The first attack hit at mile 2 of a 5K! I thought I was going to die!! I have no health insurance, so I sought out natural remedies. I did the gallbladder cleanse...terrible, but it worked to remove stones. I had muscle testing done at an herb shop. Since taking the supplements…
  • I'm sorry this happened to you! Some people need to have their tongues removed!!
  • I'm 38, 5'2" and currently 126, with a goal of 120. I was staying around 122 - 123, until I began running and cross training. I'm currently in the best shape of my life, even though I'm not as "skinny" as I once was. I'm comfortable in my skin, and that means alot!
  • When working out, you have to focus more on inches lost, rather than weight. When I began running, I put on 5 lbs, but I was wearing clothes I hadn't worn in a long time. I try to stay off the scales. If my clothes get tight, I know I need to be concerned!
  • Being skinny and eating foods you don't enjoy...NO! Being healthy, confident, fit and strong; finding foods that taste good and are healthy for you...YES!!
  • Exercise is important, not only for weightloss, but for your health as well. Everyone I have known who used meal replacement shakes has put the weight they lost back on, plus some. I would only use them occasionally, when you are crunched for time. You'll find the more active you are, the more energy you'll have. IMO, you…
  • Start adding in a few healthy foods..your taste buds will change, it just takes time. I'm living proof of that! I no longer desire foods I once thought I couldn't live without.
  • I like it a few different ways...mix with onion, diced tomatoes, jalapenos, and just a bit of Mayo and eat with celery or saltines or on a bed of lettuce; mix it with veggies and hummus; mix in black olives, onions, jalapenos, cherry tomatoes and top with mozzarella cheese, heat until cheese is melted...so good!
  • Almonds(unsalted), apple a/o celery with 1 Tbsp natural peanut butter, fresh veggies & hummus, frozen Greek yogurt bites, frozen grapes( green being my favorite frozen). Hot cup of herbal tea or coffee.
  • I made these, as well as a variation by adding dried cranberries and ground flax seed. Loved them!
  • I eat mostly boneless skinless chicken breast and tilapia. I've discovered I love hummus, which makes a great dip and sauce. One thing to note about "light" products.. they replace the fat with sugar. My body processes fat better than sugar, so I stick with the regular products and eat in moderation.
