  • Thanks everyone! I agree - I love feeling sore! Love knowing that I'm achieving something!
  • I had literally not exercised in over 4 years and at the beginning of March decided to start C25K. When I first started I almost died. I could barely run for 30 seconds without nearly dying and wanting to stop. I thought there was no possible way I could ever run 5km without stopping. BUT .... I followed the C25K program 3…
  • CONGRATULATIONS - thats a great achievement :) I don't really have any advice either, but from the sounds of your post you are running on a treadmill ???? Running outside is probably the only thing that will give you that 5km OUTSIDE fitness. I actually amazed myself on the weekend and ran 7kms in 43 minutes, but I've…
  • I use Horleys Sculpt for Women - vanilla, banana and choc among other flavours! 19g protein per serve I'm in Australia .... but I buy online so you may be able to get it overseas??
  • Sorry - I can't help you - but I'm bumping because I sometimes have the same problem ??
  • Yep - running on the treadmill is easier than running outside - as the above poster said when you're outside you actually have to propel your body forward and combat different terrain - ie slight hills, dips, gutters, tree roots LOL :) I have read that if you set the treadmill to a slight incline it can help in…
  • Thats hilarious! And so true! Although I must admit - the more I run and the further I go I don't really look at the clock anymore! Some days tho I can barely run 1km without checking the clock and stopping .... and then the other day I ran 6.5km without stopping! Its funny how it all seems so great and easy once you've…
  • Thats such an achievement! Congratulations - and you did it before the 9 weeks! Great work!
  • Great work!! 5.4k in 36 minutes is great! I keep looking on Endomondo to find routes to extend my run :noway: Sometimes I think I may be getting ahead of myself. I'm having a rest day today but will back into tomorrow morning with the aim of running 7km!!
  • Thanks all for the replys. We usually have a stock of both in the fridge as hubby isn't really into "low fat" items  I've only really just started to take notice of the Nutritional Info on packaging so I'll keep a closer eye on my most bought items!
  • Great work on the 31 minutes. I was the same - not wanting to go back to intervals - and to be honest I haven't actually used the c25k app since I ran the 25 minutes straight (W7 i think??). I've been using Endomondo to track distance and split times etc. I can't see a real problem in pushing past the apps time limits ....…
  • Yay! Big congrats to you - thats such an achievement! Now to start work on the 10k
  • True - so many variables. I guess some days are just better than others. Pretty proud of myself yesterday tho. I ran for 35 minutes straight (6kms) on a different course and didn't stop. I really wanted to at some points, but I just kept telling myself it was in my head and my body was more than capable. Seemed to work - I…
  • You can do it. I was exactly the same when i started. Thats why I'm amazed I can now run for 35 minutes straight! Just take your time - its not a race! Repeat days or weeks if you need to!
  • I've always been on the thin side. After having 2 children and 2 sections I was lucky enough to be able to lose my pregnancy weight - but I was skinny fat. A few months ago I decided to get healthy and fit and I'm taking better care of my body - this has just increased the rude comments. "You don't need to exercise -…
  • Good work everyone! I have days when I can't seem to run 1km without wanting to stop. Not sure why some days are good and some are bad?? I seem to find it more difficult if I stray off my usual course and try something different. It may be in my head?? Do you always run the same course?
  • I use the Horleys Sculpt Protein powders and I've found them really good! I get them off ebay from Supps R Us Here's a link if you'd like to take a look for price comparison :) http://stores.ebay.com.au/SuppzRUS
  • I think she was saying she eats "sweet crap all" during the day as in she doesn't eat much at all ???? That may be your problem - eat smaller meals more often?
  • I used Endomondo today for the first time ever. Never used any other programs/apps but it seemed to be pretty spot on with distance!
  • You have to try Vegemite  You wont have any trouble finding healthy food here. Our supermarkets are just as well stocked as yours and we have loads of fresh food markets to choose from in our major cities. From my experience travelling through the States I think you may find that our portion sizes are much smaller…
  • I used Endomondo for the first time this morning. Was great to see how far I'd run, average speed and it also gives an approximate calorie burn (not very accurate however). http://www.endomondo.com
  • Running on a treadmill is easier because you don't have to propel your body forward, hence running outside is a totally different experience. Lots of sticks, and potholes and tree roots to avoid tripping over  not to mention those darn hills. I have just finished W7 D2 of the C25K and am totally amazed at my…
  • I haven't yet purchased a HRM but this is the exact reason I'm going to. I did W7 D2 of the C25K program this morning (so running for 25 minutes) and was also running Endomondo to track my distance and speed etc. According to MFP's approximate I burned 177 cals. Endomondo said I burned 267. I've decided until I get my HRM…
  • Im up to W6 D3 tomorrow! I cannot believe how easy this program makes running. Never in a million years did I think I'd be able to run 25 minutes straight ---- but now I can! Give it a go - enjoy it :)
  • Bump - for when my Polar HRM arrives :)
  • I have a habit of dipping almonds into it!! Mmmm - yum!

  • I was looking in our local Woolies today but no luck :( I'm in the ACT - I guess I'll just keep waiting. Thanks for posting! Mmmm - love rice paper rolls!
  • Congrats! Thats great! I have the same goal - 5k in 30 minutes! I'm doing c25k at the moment and today finished W5 D3. Sooo pleased with myself - I ran for 23 minutes straight :) I don't have a gps so not sure of exact distance but I think its around 3.5kms!! A big achievement for me! Keep up the good work - you'll reach…
  • I just finished W5D2 today - next up is running for 20 minutes straight - OMG! I can't believe how easy this program makes it. I've never really been active, let alone a runner, but this program motivates you to get in and do it! As the others have said - just take your time. Its a program to get you running 5K - its not a…
