For me, it is to learn discipline and to learn to let go. Once the high of the motivation is gone, you have to be disciplined enough to keep going. When the plateaus hit, when you're tired, when you're bored, when no one wants to go with you, when the scale peaks instead of plummeting, when you still haven't made it into…

Brining. Even adding 10 minutes of brining can change your chicken tremendously for the better. Plus, an hour is a long time unless you're talking thick, bone-in cuts.

I agree that the support makes a huge difference. I didn't believe it before, but I do now. Feel free to add me!

I like to write them down. I generally find ones I want to cook online and then import them into MFP so I can adjust them. I will make sure the calories per serving fits my allowance for a meal, make sure it's got enough protein, and change the general ingredients for specific quantities (1 onion becomes 6 oz of onion,…

I'm over 300 (even after losing 40 lbs) and I have used Turbo Jam before, but I don't have joint issues. I prefer Rockin' Body (one of Shaun T's programs from Beachbody) because, while it's still aerobic/cardio, it's not quite as much as TJ and I had trouble keeping up with the TJ choreography after the Learn and Burn…

I don't know why your other posts were flagged and deleted, but wanted to say congratulations on your weight loss and your tenacity. There are always people who think they know butter, but you are the only expert on you! It's great that you have your son's support and I hope that you'll be able to find some friendship and…

What I've started doing is making two casseroles (on Sunday), portioning them up, and freezing half the portions of each casserole. That way, I'm building up some of my "Plan B" meals in the freezer for those times when I forget to cook or didn't have time. Plus, because I have two casseroles to choose from, I don't get…

I'm 5'5" and have a LOT to lose. My counselor recommended I eat 1800 calories a day, plus 50% of the calories I burn during exercise. She warned me not to get below 1200 net calories consumed a day and prefers that I stay above 1400 to avoid metabolic confusion.

<<HUGS >> I'm sorry you're going through this. I hope you can find a way to take care of yourself no matter what he says/does that may discourage you. I agree with some of what was said before. Some people (not just men) say things, make jokes, pick fights when they're feeling emotions that they're not comfortable…

Welcome! I've lost about 30 pounds so far. I attribute much of my success to finding some exercise I like and being consistent with it and logging my nutritionals in MFP. I'm happy to have you add me as a friend too. Group support can be key to weight loss!

Congratulations! Great work! The power of perseverance!

I'm newly rededicated to my weight loss journey. I've considered weight loss surgery, but my insurance doesn't cover it, nor do they cover any care that's needed as a result of the surgery. So, it's not an option for me at this time. I live about 1.5 hours from any family and I don't have many friends (I'm likable but the…
