Here's a fun little link to add up Thanksgiving calories (not sure how accurate it is, though)... http://walking.about.com/library/cal/blthanksgivingcalories.htm But I plan to go with light eating throughout the day, and enjoy my Thanksgiving dinner with moderate portions. Then back to the grind the next day.

you look wonderful!!! congrats

You need to provide your stats so people can help you :) Age Height Gender Current weight Goal weight Do you workout? If so, what kind and how many times a week for how long each time? What are your goals? (lose weight / build muscle / maintain weight, etc.)

You can do a program off of bodybuilder.com (food and exercise) - its free. Or you can buy something for home like P90x or Insanity or Cathe Friedrich's STS or Xtrain program. Then there's free workouts on fitnessblender.com too.

Nope sounds good.....I do 40/40/20 (P/C/F) for ratios....its a good middle of the road combination. Enough protein, good amt carbs for workout........
-
Its been 9 months....you have to work yourself up again....don't fret :) You'll get there pretty quickly. Free weights make you really use your muscles better than machines.
-
pick up "push up bars" at your local Dick's sporting goods store....it works and there cheap. That'll take the pressure off your wrists. Or use dumbells (heavy ones so they don't move) as pushup bars. :)

DAMN!

I know...hate that you can't find the threads you commented on and are waiting for a reply...Like Dianne said ...you have to hit the little bookmark thing at the top right when inside the thread.

Just purchased Cathe' Friedrich's XTRAIN program (about $80) on Amazon.....she's been around forever and curls at least 30 lbs (each arm) on a stability ball....I'll be starting her 90 day program the first week of Nov. You can check her out on YOUTUBE.

"If" you want a cheap recovery drink (same ratios as the one they are trying to sell you).... drink 1 cup of low fat chocolate milk :) carb to protein ratio is the same........... its even on their Beachbody boards :)
-
Since its only 8 lbs you are trying to lose....probably try 10% - 15% off your TDEE ....so around 1701 or 1607 calories per day (while exercising). You do not eat calories back with the TDEE method...
-
First you start with some kind of activity you enjoy, with a slight food deficit...when you lose weight at a point where you have to go clothes shopping, or are able to play with your kids, grandkids or neices/nephews without running out of breathe...it will start to motivate you that "yah....living an active / healthy…

YEAH!!! Nice job :) keep going
-
:p nice!
-
Ayesha1970, correct me if I'm wrong.... You are 44 years old with 25 pounds to lose? Is that right?
-
oh ....okay..... but you still need to use a digital food scale....with just estimating...you can really mess up the weigh of food, which means your calories could be way over. A digital food scale is about 10-18 dollars at your local big dept. store.
-
...and there it is.... :s

vitamins are useless ...unless you have a deficit in a particular area. Meaning for example if you have low iron, then taking iron pills with OJ will help get your iron levels up. Otherwise you're just peeing it all out. More than half of all adults in the United States take some sort of multivitamin; many do so in hopes…

This is great!!! :)

if they ask what I'm doing --- which is happening alot at work lately....then I tell them my workout and that I weigh / log my food on MFP. Nothing offensive about that. What they do with the information is up to them.
-
new program and only a little over two weeks in? Too soon to worry. New programs create water because your body is not use to it. Just stay the course. Make sure you are accurate logging (weighing your food, etc.). When I first started p90x - it took 4 weeks for the scale to move....then it consistently moved after that.…
-
Absolutely amazing! You look wonderful...you should be very proud of yourself.
-
Yup if you're calculating with TDEE (I use that), then sedatary means you do not workout and you have a full 8 hour desk job. TDEE includes your exercise....the MFP method is BEFORE exercise. I use TDEE and use the moderately active choice...I have a desk job, but I work out 6 days per week (with 3 -4 days very intense).…
