could be water weight. Muscle doesn't grow that fast, at least not in significant amounts. Also muscle is lean even if it's bulky compared to fat. Fat takes up more space. Check your sodium intake that most likley is the culprit.

I find that if I go below 1200 I usually feel weak and tired. But some days it doesn't bother me at all. Most days this is the case though. I also can't stick to 1200 if I exercise that day, it's tough to do.
