I am new to the group and i'm really glad to have found it. Everyone is so supportive, unlike some of the regular boards where some people seem intent on being mean. Looking for all the info I can get while I make my decision on surgery.

Bravo. You've made it 18 days. I too am trying to quit my soda habit. I am weaning gradually off Diet Coke as I don't think I can do it cold turkey. Don't let others make you question yourself. Soda provides no nutrition or benefit. Maybe it's NOT ok to have just one. Maybe it WILL kill you. And DO NOT switch to DIET…

Some people don't get it. I do. "Diet" foods -prepackaged, low-fat, low-cal cost more and when they are what you need to eat it is frustrating to have it missing. Teens boys are bottomless grazers. They will eat anything. Mine used to snack on the food I saved for my lunch the next day. Didn't even matter if he ate an hour…

Agreed. Always wished I could just wake up thin one day. And I would promise to always be good. Not gonna happen.

You said you use a lot of processed foods and they usually contain too much salt. Try to cook fresh more often and maybe add sodium content to your food tracker. I have only been here three days and already had some surprises with the food tracker!

Putting entries into the food journal helps me think twice about what I am doing. And it helps to see how many calories I can avoid.
