Ya bro 20 percent from fat IS low so I agree with you there. You lost me by saying low fat diets INCREASE heart disease LOL. I used this google thing you suggested and found this little gem. http://www.emc.maricopa.edu/academics/physed/wellness/fittwelve.html "Too much dietary fat can also contribute to overweight. (Fats…

I dont see any fat on you to cut

Do NOT be intimidated by other people at the gym. We were all new once and if anything, they respect people more that lift. Those cardio machines will just make you a smaller version of the shape you have. Its the adding muscle that burns more fat and keeps the fat off.

I would stick to fruits and vegetables for carbs. Grains arent as healthy as they once thought.

Fat gets stored quickest in the body. Humans CAN store carbs and proteins as fat but it requires more calories to do so. Which means you're better off eating low fat.

If youre new to lifting you can build muscle and lose fat at the same time. If not you shouldnt have to use tremendous extra calories to put on muscle mass. Maybe 250 extra calories a day because if you train hard, eat right, and recover well you're looking at 1-2 lbs. of muscle added a month (if you're just starting.) So…

The conversion of carbohydrates or protein into fat is 10 times less efficient than simply storing fat in a fat cell, but the body can do it. If you have 100 extra calories in fat (about 11 grams) floating in your bloodstream, fat cells can store it using only 2.5 calories of energy. On the other hand, if you have 100…

I messed up my left knee real bad from letting my ego decide how much weight to use. Do NOT use the smith machine for squats. And ya, the soreness goes away if you're consistent.

Fiber. If you're getting enough fiber you will have movement.

I think going to failure is a bad idea because it will reduce the volume you can do on your next lifts. However if its say....the last exercise youre doing for chest that day go ahead and go to failure because you're done hitting it.

You've fallen into the low carb trap. Carbs are not bad for you if theyre from fruits and vegetables. The reason why so many people say they lose weight eating low carb is because the carbs they normally ate were potato chips and cookies. Of course you'll lose weight when you limit those items.

The more muscle you have the more fat your body burns. I would say strength training is more important than "cardio."

This depends on if you care more about looking good this summer or doing well in the show. Choose one.

What are some common symptoms of this? My Dad mentioned something about his thyroid being messed up and I didnt pay much attention to it.

So Im supposed to trust some vegan mma fighter on my protein intake? This guy uses protein more efficient than most Im assuming. So he doesn't need as much protein. You cant just say anyone who is physically active needs 80 grams or less.

Anywhere from 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of lean body mass is what I've gathered from the research. So if you weigh 120 lbs. with 20 lbs. of that being body fat, you would want a minimum of 100 grams per day to maintain the amount of muscle you currently have and up to 150 if youre trying to build extra muscle.
