Same here, but without the weight loss. My own fault, though! Why do coworker's feel the need to bring their leftover goodies to work? (Okay - I brought some, too!) Plan for this week - stay out of the staff lunchroom!!!

Yes, please! I will be happy losing a pound a week. Currently at 160. Ultimate goal is 145.

LOL! This might be TMI for some, but my backside looks like I have two sharpei puppies hanging from it! Just like Bugged53, I have absolutely no regrets!

I'm so proud of you!! :D You are a great inspiration to all of us!

So glad everything went well for you, Jena!! Keep us posted. Maggy

Okay, I was a Spanx lover until I tried Vedette. I am now a convert! And the price ? Less than half the cost of Spanx. Just in case you try them, I wear a medium, but I ordered a large after reading the reviews. Glad I did. They are Amazing! I ordered two more of the full compression style.

Hi, Paula. I know how hard it is to not drink when eating. I'm almost two years post- RNY. And I still have to remind myself to stop drinking before meals! If I recall, I was a little behind the learning curve when it came to eating. I was still doing Greek yogurt and protein shakes at 7 weeks. You might want to try more…

So sorry you're going through this, Grace. I had constant nausea for the first two months post-RNY. I was on several different meds for it, but nothing worked. Then one day it was gone. But during those first two months, I had several panic attacks and emotional melt-downs, thinking that this was what life was going to be…

I hit goal over a year ago and I'm still surprised when I see current pictures of myself. I still refer to myself as "fluffy" even though I'm 5'8" and 149 lbs. I think I will eventually see myself as fit, but not yet. My hubby says I'm just fishing for compliments

Prayers for a successful surgery and easy recovery!!

These are such good reasons to be ever mindful of what we put in our mouths. We have all been through too much to go backwards! Best wishes to all who are trying to regain control.

I keep the slapping and flapping in check with Spanx and Teez-Hers. I can only wear knee-length skirts with support hose. I appreciate your problem with size differences. I wear a medium top (3/4 or full length sleeves), but my "bat wings" require a larger sleeve. I am not complaining, though. I would much rather wear a…

You have done such an awesome job - losing 30 lbs in a month!! You are truly an inspiration to all of us. Keep going, Girlfriend!!

Amen! I love, love, love MFP! The ease of logging food, the support community, the wealth of information on so many topics available at our fingertips. So glad my NUT recommended it!

I think many of us on this site have similar stories about pre-surgery concerns. I was having panic attacks before my RNY surgery, worrying about all of the unknowns. The day before my scheduled surgery, I was in my local supermarket, in the vitamin aisle, picking up the gummy vitamins I would need post-surgery. I still…

I had a co-worker tell me that I would be "fat again within five years." Wow! He said that "statistics" show that there are very few people who lose weight and keep it off long-term. What a jerk! I have three years to go, but I will prove him wrong. Thankfully, my family, friends and other co-workers are very supportive of…

I'm nearly two years post-RNY and I still have dumping problems. This is not just with ice cream and cake. I can't eat pasta, rice, heavy white fish like haddock, Chinese food (must be the sauces). With any food, I know to stop right away if my stomach starts to feel queasy. I can eat small amounts of chocolate, or a bite…

Same sentiments as Clara!! You help to keep us going, Girlfriend!

I hope today went well for you! It isn't easy, as you know, but you can do it! We're here to encourage and to commiserate, but never to judge. Hoping you have a healthy weekend! Maggy

Congratulations, Rob!!

I know your dilemma! The dietician who did my pre-RNY counseling recommends 1600 calories for maintenance. The bariatric surgeon's nutritionist says that I must stay at 1200 calories for life. Both recommend at least 75 grams of protein. I'm going middle of the road with 1400! (I'm 5'8" and 149 lbs and almost two years…

This IS a great topic! Nearly two years post-RNY and a year after hitting my goal weight, I still see myself as "fluffy." I thought I might feel thin when I iron my size 8 clothes (used to be a 24), but even they look big to me. I really only see myself as thin when I see pictures of me. I usually do a double-take because…

Well done, Rob! It feels so good to be active again, doesn't it? And there's so much more fun ahead!

I had Blue Cross insurance. I was required to go through 6 consecutive months of nutrition counseling and joined a weight-loss group. I did Weight Watchers on-line. After those six months, I went to the surgeon's office for my pre-surgery appointment, only to find out that my surgeon was not covered by my new insurance…

Awesome!!!

Same here! First, Congratulations, Jena! How exciting! I decided on RNY for the same reason as Sadiegirl. My surgeon specializes in both the LapBand and RNY. The latter just seemed logical considering that I had 100+ pounds to lose. Only you can make the final decision. Talk it over with a doctor whose opinion you trust.…

Hi, asia! I usually eat about 1600 calories, with at least 75 grams of protein. I follow MFP suggested guidelines on the fat and carbs. My nutritionist wants me to consume at least 100 grams of protein, eat healthy fats and cut back on the carbs. I do not eat back exercise calories on most days. That said, I must confess…

First, congratulations on your decision towards a healthier life. Now, as everyone else has said, take a deep breath and call your nutritionist. This is the best advice anyone can give you. Your bariatric surgeon's office should have a nutritionist on staff. There really is so much to learn that you just don't absorb prior…

Hi, Millie! I was back at work (high school teacher) fourteen days after bypass surgery. I tired easily and my blood pressure dropped rather low because I was still taking my pre-surgery dose. Once it was adjusted, I did much better. As rubisliprz said, pay attention to your body. Rest as needed and get your fluids in!…

During my three-week presurgery program, I was getting nauseous. My surgeon told me to cut back on my diabetes meds, after checking blood sugar. Immediately following RNY surgery, I became nauseous again. This lasted for two weeks until my doctor told me to cut down again on the diabetes and BP meds. One month after…
