Kale chips - they taste like cabbage-scented paper. Also kale in any other form. Anything where cauliflower is the substitute for something yummy, like potatoes or pizza crust. I'm not the biggest fan of raw cauliflower, but it's fine in a stir-fry, a curry, etc. Also cottage cheese, it looks like something that's been…

New Brunswick! We're here, we're just not that easy to spot. Go Team Canada!!

I'm 40, a mom of four & I work 50 hours per week. I've found the more I do, the more I want to do, when it comes to exercise. When I started at the gym, I set a goal of 3 times per week, and hardly ever met it. I would get to Wednesday, and realize I hadn't gone yet. Then I set a goal of going at certain times each week,…

I know that push-ups can be for men or women, but I didn't know what else to call them. Thanks for the idea of doing them on the stairs. My core isn't bad, but I just don't have the strength yet in my arms and chest to lift myself all the way up or lower myself back down without falling. I also have about 70 pounds to…

I would say more protein.

Rachel definitely went too far. She looked so healthy & fit when she left the ranch. I doubt she could even complete that sprint triathlon now. What a sad ending to a story that had inspired so many. I hope she'll talk publicly about the aftermath, and I hope somebody gets that girl a sandwich a drink of water!

I'm a working Mom of 4, and NOT a morning person, so the 'get up before the kids and workout then' thing, just doesn't work for me. When I first joined the gym, I set a goal of going 3 times per week. I rarely met that goal. Then I changed my goal to going Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. By having specific days in mind, I…

You should deal with your mental health, too. Exercise can be extremely beneficial for depression, but some people, at some times in their lives need more help than that. Go see a Doctor, or a counsellor to deal with your depression/anxiety. Talk therapy can be very helpful, as can the right medication, if that's what you…

Stop beating yourself up. Go to the gym today. The next time you feel like not going, remember how you feel now. Move on.

Milk!

This is the way to go. i hate to 'waste' calories on crappy chocolate. i also sometimes make myself a mocha by adding some unsweetened cocoa & stevia to my coffee.

In atlantic Canada here, and I could pay close to $4/dozen at the grocery store, but a local farmer sells gorgeous farm fresh eggs for $3.25/doz.

Don't really like things to touch. I eat all of one thing before moving on to the next, usually based on what will get cold the fastest, or what is most disgusting if cold. For example: broccoli first, because it gets cold fast and is really gross cold, then starch, then meat, but if I had a broccoli salad instead, I would…

Most kinds of meat -- my mother seemed to think it need to be cooked to the consistency of shoe leather, so my first rare steak was a revelation, and also egg yolks. I didn't like egg yolks until I was pregnant & have loved eggs in any form ever since!!

YES! YES! YES! From personal experience as someone with chronic moderate depression. I'm on medication too, but the exercise component is a huge factor in living with my depression. For me, when I have an episode, just going for a walk helps. Even if I'm not really going fast enough to be doing much good from an exercise…

chicken milk berries spinach whole grain bread peanuts carrots Chicken is the most versatile meat. I know I can't live without milk and bread. Spinach and carrots are both vegetables that can be prepared numerous ways. I went with peanuts so that I can have crunch when I want, and also make peanut butter.

You prep your pizza on another surface, usually a pizza peel (one of those wooden paddle things) then you slide it off the peel onto the preheated stone. You don't even have to take the stone out of the oven, which is good, cause they're heavy. That being said, of course you don't 'need' one. You don't even 'need'…

Thanks everyone. I guess I'd better get on the search for some good workout shorts.

For me, getting over the feeling bad, feeling guilty, etc. was essential. I cannot change the past. When I slip up, I log it, sometimes I do some extra exercise to make it 'fit' in my calories (if it's not too much), but otherwise, I just move on.

You're my inspiration for today. I'm on 1500mg metformin, so I look forward to being able to reduce my dosage eventually, too.

Isn't it better for kids to eat veggies with a little ranch dip than not to eat them at all? Some kids just love to dip! If you have a dipper you can also try baby carrots and hummus, or make a nice white bean dip with whatever seasonings you think they'll like, then they'll get some extra protein, too. My kids also like a…

How about adding a loaded backpack? As you've been losing your resistance decreases with your body weight.

I honestly didn't realize that it was the same person in your new picture. I had to look back and forth a few times to figure it out.

Eggs, brown rice, oatmeal, and whatever's in season for fruit & veg.

Kale chips. I wanted to like them, but they tasted like cabbage scented paper. I tried kale several other ways, and still didn't like it. I like most other veggies, so I can live without kale.

If you like oatmeal for breakfast, do a recipe search for baked oatmeal. I like it. My recipe makes 12 servings. You can cut it into squares & then just defrost/reheat in the microwave.

The kids I look after have had this, it was a stomach virus. It went back to normal in about a week.
