  • I've been there! I have PCOS so I wasn't surprised when I was diagnosed when I was pregnant with my daughter. I followed the diet perfectly and still had to inject myself with insulin 4 times per day. Don't get discouraged, just do the best you can and remember you are doing it for that sweet baby. My daughter turned out…
  • I didn't lose any until after breastfeeding. My body was one of the ones that likes to hold on to fat while feeding.
  • Low carb has helped me quite a bit. I am on metformin and I've lost 17 pounds since February which is great for me. I'm following a plan right now written by and endocrinologist called The Metabolism Miracle. One of my sorority sisters from college followed this plan and has great success and it's worked great for me so…
  • I also have PCOS. I was diagnosed in 2013 but looking back I should have been diagnosed when I was 12. (I will be 35 in June). I was able to conceive a child with the help of metformin and clomid and she is now 1 and 1/2 years old. I just recently started a program that one of my sorority sisters with PCOS had great…
  • took me a couple of weeks for my stomach to get used to it. I am on it for PCOS/insulin resistance.
  • i am also pre-diabetic. With the suggestion of a friend I've started a new lifestyle change called the Metabolism Miracle. She's had great success and is off of her metformin now. That is my goal. I lost 7 pounds the first week so I'm hoping this plan will continue to work for me.
  • I am the same. Just recently started following a plan called the Metabolism Miracle as it has helped one of my friends tremendously. Today is day 2 on the plan so its early for me, but I have high hopes that this will help with my insulin resistance.
  • I had it during my pregnancy like 3 times. I am A- and my husband is O+. I spotted throughout the pregnancy and every time that happened I had to get another shot. I also got one right after I gave birth too. I didn't have any issues at all.
  • Sometimes losing weight by itself doesn't work. A combination of Metformin and Clomid worked for me and I now have an amazing one year old baby girl. Best wishes to you all!
  • Add me. I am in both of those categories. :-)
  • It took me a month or two for my stomach to feel normal while on metformin for PCOS. It still sometimes gets aggravated. Good luck to you!
  • i have it as well. Been working on trying what works best for me. Just starting back on here after having a baby last year. Gotta get back on track!
  • I also have PCOS and struggled to conceive. Taking metformin and clomid worked for me and now I have a beautiful 11 month old baby girl. It is super hard for me to lose weight. Metformin helped me before I got pregnant so I am back on that again in hopes that I will lose some weight. I do breastfeed my daughter some still…
  • 11 months post pardem here and still breastfeeding some and supplementing too. Will probably start weaning completely in a few weeks and I'm hoping my hormones will get back in line. I have PCOS so even though I'm at weight I was when I got pregnant I have a long way to go and it's slow going for sure. Trying to take baby…
  • I am breastfeeding and pumping for my 7 month old. I'm not having much luck losing weight. I think my PCOS wants my fat to stay on my body while I'm nursing but slowly getting there. I've lost 8 pounds since January and need to lose much much more. It's worth it though to make sure my baby is getting what she needs.
  • I also have PCOS and I just had a baby girl in September. I weigh quite a bit more than you and started out pre-pregnancy at 230 pounds. Metformin and the smallest dose of Clomid helped me to conceive. So don't get discouraged as there are other options to help you get pregnant. Of course losing weight is great too, and I…
  • I'm breastfeeding my almost 5 month old daughter and trying to lose weight too. It is super hard because I feel like I'm starving all the time and every time I try to eat healthier and exercise it seems that my milk supply goes down. Very frustrating at times.
  • I was able to conceive using metformin as well as clomid. I got pregnant the 2nd month of using the lowest dose of clomid so I consider myself very lucky. I just had my baby in September and she is just perfect. I did have gestational diabetes and I am now pre-diabetic. So I'm working on getting back to the healthier…
  • I've been on metformin for a year now and I've lost 20 pounds. it's very slow going for me which is unfortunately a side effect of PCOS. I'm just happy that I've lost some though. Slow and steady wins the race right? :-) Metformin does mess with my stomach sometimes. I find that if I eat certain foods it tends to effect me…
  • I was just diagnosed in August...still trying to figure everything out. I have been taking Metformin but not sure that it has helped much. I am going back to the doctor in February to see what he suggests.
  • I was recently diagnosed. I would love to join this group.
  • You might have an iron deficiency. When i was younger i was having a hair loss problem and it turned out to be an iron deficiency. YOu might want to go get checked out by a doctor.
  • I would like to join! :-)
  • I was on antibiotics last month during mine and it was only 1 and a half days when mine is usually like 6 or 7. I did some research and the antibiotics mess with your hormones quite a bit so I think that could be part of it. I also find that when I am excercising more that mine are a lot lighter.
