Running ... everytime
-
absolutely - I use the Rehband ones. Had slightly dodgy knees from too much running and i now use them for anything squatting. I feel supported and much more confident to go heavy and my knees feel much stronger and never hurt any more.
-
9.06 scaled. My one re-do as my first shot was terrible. Not one I'll be doing again in a hurry!
-
did crap - 195, only 30 push ups this time. Judging was harsh in my new box so leads me to believe that last years were probably suspect. How did you go Bostonwolf?
-
155 reps scaled for me - managed one lift @ 95lbs (43kg) which I have never attempted before - happy with that, even though it took me the last remaining 3 mins to get.
-
15.23 - scaled
-
No you can't - it's annoying.
-
I took Ripped Freak for a while and I ended up in hospital with a racing heart and breathing difficulties. Never again - not worth it. Don't do it.
-
Ive seen the no bulls being advertised - can't get them here in NZ and shipping them here makes them really expensive :-(
-
Check out the Crossfit Love group on here - we're all pretty friendly.
-
% stays the same - I guess you do it 2 x week for 4 weeks
-
I started off with Innov8's 240's but found them too low profile to run in. I am now on my 2nd pair of Nano 4's for CF and Reebok Lifters 2 for lifting. I love both and I buy them from a local sports store here in NZ. I've heard Romaleos are good too though.

Thanks, perhaps I didn't explain myself very well - I've just completed a 6 x 6 strength programme and exceeded my 1RM goals - hence the interest in another similar but different programme. Maybe I'll trim it back to 50% and see how I feel. Another question - would you do this just once a week or twice? I'll be doing…
-
Agree so much with the above. We do a hellalot of squats (Ft/Bk/OH) etc that I find it's a great balance of upper, lower & cardio.

bump

Awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I found crossfit through MFP also and I love love love it. All I can suggest is get the basics down and you will have a strong foundation to progress. There is a crossfit love group on here too.

Goblet squats are more beneficial for you than back squats. The only reason to stop doing them would be because you physically can no longer hold heavier weight. [/quote] Why are goblet squats more beneficial than back squats??
-
This!
-
what do you like doing?
-
nice work!
-
16.32 scaled for me - the worst one yet. Never again. The thrusters were OK - but them burpees ......
-
This one was a killer! I got 1 x full round (220) scaled. I would have loved to attempted RX but those DL would have smashed my back.
-
I hope you are right Bostonwolf
-
I've decided not to ever do the open again. Seriously we have people in our box who have redone their wods 2 or 3 or even 4 times! seriously? You give it your best shot 1st time. I've never experienced an open like it. what other comp in the world let's you re-do your score just because you weren't feeling it, or someone…
-
16.3 was a killer for me. I did scaled for 92. I was writhing on the floor afterwards with burning forearms. There were many many people who only posted a score of 10 at my box. I congratulate anyone who managed to do at least 1 MU!
-
i'm not gonna lie - don't love 16.3
-
I think you could be right - I'm hoping so anyway
-
Wasn't going to do 16.2 as my shoulder won't allow me to grip the bar doing T2B, however my coach allowed me to reverse grip and I managed to get through 6 cleans in round 1. First time I've ever RX'd a WOD in comp so am pleased.
-
1st ever pistol squat last night!
-
How did you go with 16.1? How's the new box? I don't know anything about Planet Fitness - I'm in New Zealand. Guessing it's a chain?
