I'm happy to move to a Friday
-
Still waiting on my pedometre so I hope its here tomorrow and I don't have to start late. Are you setting this up as a group?
-
I'm up for that, does jogging count as steps? Was that a really silly question, I've never used a step counter so I'm not really sure. I love walking and with it starting to get icy I can still get out walking even if it's not as easy to jog. Do I need a good pedometre or will a cheap and simple one work well?

You are going to get a whole host of responses on both sides of the arguments on this. I would say its trial and error for you, eat all, eat some, eat none and see what works for you. Just make sure you eat enough, you want a slow and sustainable weight loss and ultimately you want your body to be healthy. MFP nets your…

These things happen, I have had gains, losses, no movement over the months and there have been many times I have wanted to give up, but I am now learning to stick with it, its not always easy but you will lose over all and over the next few months you will see real changes.

I was going to suggest we do some challenges together if people were interested, a water challenge sounds great as I rarely drink enough water, even although I don't drink anything else, so it will be a real challenge.

I have been thinking about this all day so I'm glad to see a post about it. I am still very overweight, but today I hit a dream goal of mine, the weight I was when I met my husband and that I knew I felt happy about my body at. However, today I still see someone who is 40lbs heavier and I weighed myself over and over again…

Hi As has been mentioned, you can't spot target weight loss, it will come off where your body takes it from. However, I have found that jogging has really reduced the size of my back and chest, and I know a lot of other women find this to be the case. I dropped inches there pretty quickly, and I still continue to do so,…

OK I see how it works now, I think it should be private and have a password.
-
Welcome, glad to have you join! As for the spreadsheet I have no clue how to do that. Another question what to we want as a group picture?
-
I'm going to set up a Group today, I will go with Wednesday Winners just now as that is a name that has been suggested if thats OK with everyone? I will try to add people but please add yourself if I have missed anyone.

I'm not great with recipe ideas, I eat a LOT of chicken with different spices and usually with salads or veg. I still eat bread and pasta but have switched to brown as much as possible. As for exercise I don't like to pay to use the gym and I would suggest walking or jogging, the couch to 5k programme is always…

I'm not really sure what is involved in running a group, I think we should do what suits us and will be motivating. Weigh ins sound good and maybe we could set some goals to give us something to work towards? If there is only a few of us we could weigh in on a blog or post? Challenges sound great too and will be fantastic…

I would definitely be in too, but I have never been in a Group before so don't really know what it entails. All I know is I need to stay motivated and reach some goals.
-
I'm looking for one too, why don't you start your own?
-
I have an app for my phone its called Runkeeper and its fantastic and now also free. If you have a compatible phone I would definitely recommend it, I have been using it for a year and I love it.

Hi and Welcome You have the same reason I came here, I was shocked at my wedding photos and all I can see is my double chin. Although a few months later and a few pounds off I feel much better about them and you will too. I wish you loads of success with your weight loss as we have the same goals. I'm working up to 20…

Hello and welcome! I don't think you have to give it up, you may not loose as fast but you can still do it! If you are careful the rest of the week and maybe sometimes consider healthier alternatives with your take aways, doing your exercises and drinking plenty of water then you've got it covered. Good luck

You look AMAZING! Well done and what an inspiration!

Needed some motivation to sort out my goals for November and get more weight lost, I have been slacking so thanks for this post! 1. Finally have ran 60 miles or over in month, I have been getting closer but not quite made it yet. 2. Loose half a stone (7lbs) 3. By the end of the month be into a size 14 (uk) jeans or…

Increase in small increments as already said, and also the C25K programme, I haven't tried it but completed similar and it does work. Also I was stuck at 5k in August, I started doing some interval training and it has helped me increase my endurance, I now regularly complete 10k and I am training for a half marathon, I…

Welcome, you can add me if you like, I will try to help support and motivate, I haven't long started myself. Nice to meet you.

I am in the same boat as you, I don't always run in the morning but I do in the evening and I have the same sort of routes with poor lighting. Have you looked for other routes? I use an app called runkeeper and you can search for routes that other people have added and sometimes I give them a go, last year I found one that…

I burned 871 yesterday, I ran a little further as I knew I was doing this challenge, 144 today with my walk this morning, I am going to do some resistance tonight. 1624 so far!
-
Well I say running, as that is how it feels when I do it, although I have seen videos and pictures of me doing it and I would say it was more like fast walking. Its all about a step at a time whether its 30 seconds or 2 hours at least we are doing it.
-
Hi Everyone, I would like to join too as I need some motivation with my exercise this week. Burned 800 calories so far and I'm hoping to step it up over the week. Nice to meet everyone and what a great challenge! :D
-
I haven't been great with my eating all week but like you I am ready to get started again today and I am on track so far. Slip ups with happen but I love that I can now deal with them and not just give up. Well done you and I wish you every success with your new motivation!

You are doing great! Weight loss and healthy lifestyle is all about focussing on the big picture, all small changes add up and you will end up feeling fantastic. Its not always about the scale, its about how you feel and sometimes how you look these changes will keep you going and yo will get the results you want. Well…

I don't think you have to be obsessive to loose weight, I think it depends how you see your weight loss, for me being strict for a few months works, but a year after that I've started to gain the pounds again. I started being very strict but over the past month I am finding it unsustainable so I am scaling back and making…

It's your Birthday, go out and enjoy it, remember a healthy lifestyle is something you have to do forever, and is it worth it to meet your goals a little faster to regret not going out for your 50th Birthday? We can all stay away from temptation for a time but its always going to be there, and sometimes, at times like…
