  • My last pregnancy was twins and afterward my uterus wouldn't contract completely so my periods were really heavy. In 2007 I had an endometrial ablation so no more periods.....it's been heaven as it was like having gone through menopause w/o all the side effects....Sadly those started last summer...ugh

  • Jchrisman - I'm new to this group. Where can I find the article and your challenge thread? I do like challenges as they help me stay motivated. It's also interesting to hear your success w/ the 21 day. I have that program and just can't make myself start it as it seems like not much food. I've been doing Shred and stick to…
  • I have dense breasts so my doctor doesn't want to put me on any HRT for my hot flashes, sweats, etc so in November she put me on Brisdelle. Every once in a while I will get the 'feeling' but for the most part they are gone as are the night sweats. Now if I could just lose this weight I'd be ok. I'm exercising like a nut…
  • I totally agree that it is tougher to lose weight once you go over that 'certain' age. I just turned 51 and when I was younger I could eat what I wanted to and never had to worry about gaining weight....Then I reached an age where if I did gain weight I just had to watch it a while and it dropped off......NOW, well......…
  • Here are some questions and answers from the FB page. Is there a calorie limit we should aim for with our 100% whole wheat or whole grain bread? 2. What if we are gluten-free, what options are best (some of those options are more caloric?) the bread should be 100 cals or less per slice. If you are gluten free, make the…
  • There is a group but it's kind of quiet.....maybe we can liven it up....
  • This week I am 'retooling' myself in preparation for starting Shred (again) next Monday. Too many birthdays in may and June and then vacation and I am totally out of the 'diet' concept and Shred takes concentration to do it correctly.....The first time through I was so anal for 5 weeks and then couldn't handle W5 snacks…
  • Are any of you on the facebook page for Happy Shredders? If so there is a grocery list on there for week's 1 and 2 as well as someone took the time to make an excel spreadsheet showing the meals.... I actually took the time and typed up my menus in a word document. I then printed them out and put them in a 3-ring notebook…

  • I love those workouts. Great job.
  • I love Les Mills Combat. There are a couple that are 55 min long but one of those you can stop at 45 and have a great workout....it's fun too....and the music is better then any other workout I have...and I have a ton... Hip Hop Abs is fun but I don't 'feel' I work hard, however I use my HRM and burn according to it....so…
  • I too agree that it is a habit and it takes at least 21 days of consistent change to break a habit......I have done a ton of reading on this issue and when I am in the zone, I am good.....however over the last week w/ Christmas, etc my 'good habits' have not been so good....however... some suggestions that have worked for…
  • These are great....keep them coming....... One I've made before are Turkey Meatballs......Dump a bag of Turkey meatballs in a crockpot and pour a bottle of Chili Sauce and a jar of Sugar Free Grape Jam. Very good and pretty low in fat too..
  • These sound interesting. How long do you cook them and how high is the oven?
  • I finished a couple of weeks ago and haven't gotten back into lifting yet. It's been beautiful weather here in Florida so I've been walking in the mornings and then stepping or walking in the evenings. I am trying to figure out how to incorporate lifting though into my weekly routine w/o giving up what i'm currently doing,…
  • I didn't care for the LEAN phase at all however I think I'm going to pick a couple of the exercises and add those to two of my days and then have cardio on the other days.....Think I'll choose a few of the BURN circuits though. Felt like I saw the best results w/ that phase.
  • I love TurboFire, but mostly do the 45EZ and the 55 minutes ones. Now I just mix them in when I feel like it...I just finished CLX and need a break from Chalene.....she's great, just need a break. Enjoy.
  • I actually loved the BURN circuit much more then the other two (I am on my last week of LEAN) I lost nice inches and could really feel my hamstrings and glutes tightening up...... PUSH was boring.. I felt stronger but I also felt like I was bulking up.... LEAN- I am not sure I like....I love how my shoulders are looking…
  • I have one more week to go in the LEAN phase and while I like the definition n my shoulders I"m not crazy about this phase...I liked the BURN phase more....it's a great program though...
  • I have the ultra but I've been on a plateau since I got mine. So I don't know if it is just plateau time or if I'm not getting as much info from mine as I should be....I do however like the step counting and the flights of stairs AND it is pushing me to work toward a goal.....
  • OK, I really don't like the LEAN phase and think I'm ready to move on to another program BUT today I noticed something. When I look in the mirror at my arms I don't really see any differences in them BUT when I look down at my arms I can actually see my delts starting to form a bit.....and when I feel my right one you can…
  • I didn't take any time off but I also didn't do the cardio portions of the CLX. I did either a turbofire or a turbojam or treadmill or step....
  • I just finished my 2nd week of LEAN and didn't like it any more this week then I did last week. I'm glad to hear though that others were feeling a bit 'bulky' after the PUSH month. I felt that way too...Hopefully I'll lose some inches.... I think what I"m going to do when I finish is decide which exercises I like and what…
  • Yes, I wear it all day. Small and I clip it on my pocket and it constantly measures my steps, calories burned, flights climbed and how far I've traveled....I don't log my exercises into MFP but when I upload my fitbit info it communicates w/ MFP to give me my calories burned. The only time I've logged is when I have worn…
  • That's the way I thought it was too.....AND since I have a FITBIT it gives me my daily TDEE ad I can average it over a week to know my average. I also know what my BMR is and have set an amount of calories that I am supposed to 'eat' to lose....however i either stayed the same or gained a bit....I've decided to decrease a…
  • Know exactly what you are saying about working hard now and not burning as many calories as you used to burn. It's very frustrating.... I also know what you are saying about it keeping you sane ..... I got that way w/ the exercise program I as doing so started doing another one....Find something fun like TurboFire, or…
  • I'm on my 2nd week of the LEAN phase and I like some of the program. I don't do the cardio part of it, although I did during the first month, I got tired of the same old routines and started adding n other cardio stuff... After month 1 I had lost about 5 inches and a couple of pounds, after month 2 I lost another few…
  • No, it's not fun. I can do 3 pushups the right way and the rest on my knees but those are 'regular' push ups. Not those darn tri-cep push ups......Can anyone do those?
  • You could be right.....I have really weak shoulders....Left one has a rotator repaired and right one gets cranky....
