  • This has been my experience as well. Except for "one"day where MyFitnessPal website was having data issues, my Fitbit has synced with MFP immaculately for the last 8 months. I love mine and I had no problems with it :-)
  • No. Starvation mode is a myth.
  • Your body won't store fat because of too few calories consumed. Your nutrition goals won't be made if you under eat, but the whole "starvation mode" thing is a myth. :)
  • I wear a size 13 wide shoes :(. For an athletic shoe I wear a 12 and a half mens! I tower over everyone, & I completely understand where you're coming from. I will never be small, tiny, or fragile, even though I'm now between a size 8 and 10. (Which are all too short incidentally) :-) I am a lot healthier though!
  • Ella's kitchen makes adult pouches. You can find them in the applesauce or the snack aisle depending on the store at Target. They are a little bigger quantity I think and not marketed as baby food which will earn you far fewer strange looks :)
  • Fiber one products are delicious! However, they use chicory root as their source of fiber, and it gives me horrible stomach upset. Apparently this is very common in a lot of people :-(
  • Progress is progress. If you are losing and looking better, then it's fabulous :)
  • That's not an opinion, it's fact. :)
  • It's not muscle. Because you are seriously overestimating your calorie burns and not logging accurately, you are eatind more than you are burning, thus causing weight gain. Get a scale and weigh your food. This will be a huge eye opener for you. Also, you aren't burning as many calories as you think. If you're eating them…
  • I took Prednisone for a bit more than a year, and gained about 100 lbs. No exaggeration. My autoimmune disorder didn't hurt and I felt GREAT! However, if it wasn't nailed down, I ate it. I'm not kidding, no food was safe. I've never eaten like that in my life. I'm off that now, and life is a lot better. Good luck!
  • Yes, I am aware. However, most articles ALSO claim that fat stored estrogen. I was informed in my bariatric classes about these effects. I see a lot more information about this on bariatric sites, though, so maybe it has more to do with rate of loss. I'm on my mobile so I'll try to get links later.
  • This is exactly the opposite of what I was told. I am going to go do some research and see. I went to a very specific bariatric doctor, and many many of the side effects of the weight loss is the release estrogen from the fat cells breaking down. It's a well-documented Weight Loss side effect. I shall see if I can find…
  • There are new ones out there called Power Crunch. The peanut butter cream is actually to die for. They're called wafers, and they are almost like eating a kitkat. I can get them at Walmart, and they're fabulous.
  • It's because fat cells store estrogen. When you are losing weight all that estrogen is released into your system. When I lost over 100 lbs a few years ago, I had this same issue. I went to both my dr. and dietician and they reassured me that this is normal and will slow down. They were right!
  • As a former World of Warcraft player, and Ventrilo user, it would not be uncommon to hear someone used the term "derp" when killing yourself by standing in fire, lol Also referred to as "facepalming", and "head desking". And one more completely off topic but for any Warcraft players, known as a 50 DKP minus!
  • Yes, I absolutely have! It's just what happens with weight loss. I've gone to my dietician and several doctors who specialize in Bariatrics, and what happens is when you gain weight a lot of your hormones are stored in those fat cells. When you lose the cells, those hormones are then released into your body and can very…
  • If it really bothers you that you can't complete your diary just go back and randomly add something and it will let you complete it. Completing it doesn't really mean anything though and there's no bonus for doing so, so even if you don't it doesn't really matter. The only reason that they have a minimum is so that you are…
  • I am always super interested in the people here who say that they "know someone" or are in a group with someone who has had this type of surgery and failed. I'm in a number of real life groups with people (incuding myself) and we all had super success. Sure there are occasional complications but nothing like the scope of…
  • No, it isn't muscle from swimming. You won't gain a bunch of muscle eating in a deficit. However, it's probably just water weight. Don't stress about it, you're doing absolutely fabulous!
  • I don't know your height and weight stats, but nine miles is about my average running trail.I am 5 foot 11 inches tall woman and I weigh about 165 pounds. In that nine miles my Fitbit HR and my MapMyFitness apps both tell me I burn about 1200 calories. To say that you burned 2600 in the same amount of time seems extremely…
  • A few have already been taken down! :-)
  • Not really. It's a myth that soda is high in sodium. Most of them only have around 100 mg or so!
  • For me, I've noticed that the box to check to delete or move items is only visible on my desktop app. If I'm on my Android device it does not exist :-)
  • The people saying that you have gained muscle are incorrect. You are simply not gaining muscle on a caloric deficit. But I'm not even sure if you actually are in a deficit because if you were you'd be losing weight. Get a food scale, weigh your food, if its a liquid use a measuring cup. Log meticulously. Condiments, oils,…
  • I just got a good giggle over that website. People really will try anything to get you to buy something! You don't need to do this. Just make it a matter of calories in calories out. Since you're diabetic you will also need to watch your carbohydrate intake. Your doctor should have given you a guide :-)
  • You need to be weighing those things as well, measuring cups are simply not accurate for anything other than straight liquids. This could also account for your lack of progress, as there can be considerable overages if you are using measuring cups. :-)
  • I did that, seriously, about 5 minutes ago. I am going to log that huge candy bar I ate, but I think I would have rather leave it hidden lol.
