  • Yay. Honestly there's no reason not to, unless parting with $75 or so is totally unreasonable for your finances. It will help with logging and accuracy, as well as keep you informed on what exercises benefit you the most in different areas (i.e. what exercises get your heart really pumping or not). Numbers on here are way…
  • You have an amazing figure!! Awesome job!!!
  • It sounds like you're doing great! There is no one size fits all for spin, and your instructor certainly shouldn't make you feel like you need to be up to speed, no pun intended, when you just started. The bikes we use at my studio display the wattage at the end of the ride, and for a 60 minute class, some people are just…
  • ^ Said perfectly. I notice a lot of people have the "I've already screwed up the day might as well keep going." Not so much. No need to crab 500 or 1000 or more calories in just because you already messed up.
  • Well here's the math. Lets for discussion sake say you burn 2000 calories a day naturally (which probably isn't too far off). You need to be at a 3500 calorie deficit to lose 1 lb. You want to lose about 1 lbs per week according to your goals so you would need to DILIGENTLY eat 1500 calories a day. Simply put, the end. If…
  • ^ This. I think a cheat MEAL or a cheat ITEM is better than a "cheat day". It's pretty easy to throw away a lot of hard work by going overboard. For example: You eat at a 500 calorie deficit everyday. So by the end of the week you've earned an extra 3500 calories. While that seems like a lot, it doesn't take much to…
  • I strive to be over for protein and fiber!! I always feel accomplished when those are in the red,
  • For better or worse, none of it is going to be accurate without a HRM. I would say invest in a HRM or put it on exercise mode and use the cals from. At least that way it's taking into account what mode you're on and such versus tracking as general dancing.
  • I LOVE Old Navy tanks for working out. Whenever I catch the $5 sale I totally stock up! Spend $100 on 20 tanks? Yes please! Also Lulu is expensive, but I can speak from experience if properly cared for, they LAST. I have a few pairs of lulu pants & capris I work into the rotation with my Old Navy tanks and I love it! Also…
  • As a side note, I don't give a crap about my boyfriend going to a strip club, watching porn, etc or not. All things considered though, watching a movie involving stripping and going to a strip club are inherently not the same. Even if interactions are limited, if you actually GO you are interacting with a real environment…
  • I doubt the movie characters will start talking to you, or request money from you.
  • I *almost* felt like I wasted 10 minutes of my life until I read your posts. Thankfully the humor redeemed what would have otherwise been lost time.
  • I was just gonna say this. Corn flakes have a GI of 82, which is super high. There's not a whole lot to them thats going to keep you full for any extended period of time. http://www.gilisting.com/glycemic-index/2007/02/gi-of-cornflakes-breakfast.html
  • If one "bumps" a thread it will push it back to the top of the topics list, and the comment will make it a more recent thread. So someone says "bump" to keep the thread active.
  • Do you get enough protein and iron? If you open up your diary then we may be able to help more. Keep in mind, it's not just the quantity of calories, but also the quality of them. Blood work wouldn't hurt too. I was there once and it turned out I was anemic. I thought I was just tired from working full time and going to…
  • To me there's no difference in preferring a sports bra to a top than there is to preferring to wear shorts over pants. If it makes you comfortable and able to work out more effectively- good in you. As a side note I seriously HATE the automatic 'oh those girls just want attention comments.' Most of us are here working hard…
  • I usually "check in" daily, just because I'm neurotic. But Mondays are my official weigh days.
  • Holy swear words. You were gorgeous before but WOW! One of the most impressive transformations I've seen. So inspiring! Can't wait to make this post myself!
  • One thing that was a red flag to me, is even though you've stayed at calories goal most days, you are over on fat A LOT. and going over on fat, is getting too much fat is getting too much fat. Get where I'm going? Even if you're within your calorie goal, it doesn't mean too much if your eating fatty foods. Excess fat (and…
  • Were you netting 1200? (Calories eaten- calories burned =1200) or just eating 1200 either way? Also how are you gauging how many calories your burning? Do you have a HRM you've entered your weight, age and heart into that is telling you? Or are you going by the machine and general numbers?
  • Actually I just read the description, 400 lb capacity. You can also set different users (up to 4) so you and your husband can each have your info stored. It asks you for your height and age as well to be more accurate with body %.
  • I have this one. http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=351340&catid=183334&aid=338666&aparam=351340 It does give you info on % of muscle, fat, how much weight in fat etc. I'm not sure if it goes over 300, but I have had it for over a year and really like it. Of course it's not going to be 100% accurate on muscle…
  • MORNING MORNING AND MORNING! I have such a hard time after work or evenings.
  • I'm at the point where fast food and junk makes my stomach turn for the most part, but once or twice a year, Taco Bell or a bag of puffy cheetos call my name. I think what helps me is knowing that the reason it tastes "good" is because it's been horrible processed, modified and altered from anything that resembles food. I…
  • I manage a tattoo studio and we get a lot of cover ups of names. On the other hand we had a couple that was married for 35 years come get each others names. I figured they certainly earned it! There's no right or wrong answer but we kind of joke that there's only three names you should ever get tattooed on you, your…
  • When you says "you get 1890 to work with" what do you mean?
  • Great work! I love well planned before and after shots :)
  • Other members can also offer more specific suggestions for you, or gather ideas from themselves! Mine is open!
