What does "Bump" Mean?

Im so confused?!?!?! I keep seeing people post "bump" and i don't know what that means.

If one "bumps" a thread it will push it back to the top of the topics list, and the comment will make it a more recent thread. So someone says "bump" to keep the thread active.0

Bump - can mean knocking things together such as fist bump or bumping uglies
Bump - can mean a swelling like a bump from an insect or perhaps a baby bump.
Bump - in this case is probably when someone wants the post to stay on the first page so that people see it.0
