You are an inspiration! Thank you for sharing pictures and stories about your journey. I'm in need of losing at least 40 pounds, but get impatient. It helps me to see that others have accomplished this and that I can too. I have a back injury which restricts the amount of exercise I get, but I do try and walk each day,…

Thanks for all the replies and constructive advice. It's been 10 day and no loss yet, but hopefully soon. I'm really diligent about weighing and measuring, and limiting sugar (my Achilles heel).

Hello all ... when you say calorie deficit, do you mean you should exercise off the amount of calories you take in on a daily basis? Newbie here, trying to understand the terminology and methods. I need to lose 40, and am set up to eat 1200 calories a day. My job is sedentary, and due to a back injury, the most exercise I…

Hi Writer ... sorry to hear of your injury. Thanks for the info from the nutritionist. I am pretty good about avoiding processed foods as I don't like my son to have them, so most meals are homemade, and breads are whole grain, but store bought. I hope you start to feel better soon. It's such an inconvenience to be so…

You've inspired me. Thank you. I have been gardening, as I told someone else, as I can sit and not have to bend too much. I don't do it everyday, but a few times a week. Stretches are good too. Thank you for the support.

Thanks Elle, for the aqua therapy suggestion! I'll have to check out my local YMCA, once I'm allowed to get back to classes.

Hi, thank you for the reply. Yes, under a Dr's care since the day after Christmas when I injured my back. They had me in PT for awhile, which I think was good as they had me doing some strengthening exercises, but they took me out of it to do epidural injections in the disks. I hope they will return me to it again once the…

It was recommended to me that I put them into some form of liquid, like juice or water so that they expand, to receive the full benefit. So, that's what I do. 1.5 tablespoon in a 16 ounce glass of half water half juice everymorning. I'm very interested in the fibre and omega benefits of them, but they apparently aid your…

I buy the fat free coffeemate creamers. I know the cals and sugar are high, but I too am having difficulty finding a replacement. Fake sugars, including those that come from plants just aren't good for you. I have found switching to fat free milk and one tsp of sugar is less cal's and sugar than using the coffeemate. I…

Yep ... this is my bichon-poo rescue, Max! Max has been with our family for 7 years. PLEASE everyone, rescue animals. Avoid those puppy mills.

Well said, Mel. ;)

No way ... I saw your pictures ... you're more handsome. Can't decide what celeb you look like though (aside from Shrek).

KAA ... I'd take human over TRAMPire too. LOL

Thanks Monica! Enjoy your time state-side too!

Hi again Sue ... my name is really Elizabeth, but friends nicknamed me Elizabeethan, or just "E". Terms of endearment I guess. :) I've appreciated everyone's feedback here so much! Great group of people. Feel free to 'friend' me. I'm taking your advice and going to enjoy my holiday, and maybe even a slice of pizza!

Thanks for the great suggestions, Lilly.

Hi Sue ... I will have a rental car, so I had planned to pop into a store after assessing what I might need (like fruits and veg) to get me through the days too. I am meeting friends one evening and KNOW we're having pizza, so I'll just have to go easy the rest of that day. :) It's taken me forever to just lose the 6 I've…

Hi Denise ... I'm a slow loser too. I've been doing this 45 days and lost about 6 pounds. I can be impatient, so this is a real source of frustration for me. I'm sticking with it though, because I'm starting to feel the change in how my clothing fits! Hang in there ... it will happen for you too. Oh ... I noticed a…

Izzy ... you are an inspiration! Keep up the great work! Are you just dieting? Or are you dieting and exercising? I love to hear what people are doing to get the weight off. Thanks for sharing.
-
QUESTION: You are all talking BMR and TDEE .... what is TDEE? Thank you.
-
SOOO confused. I have plateau'd after losing only 3 pounds. I have another 25 to go and am not sure how I will get it off. I am extremely careful about my food choices, I stay at or just under the amount of calories they assigned to me, and I exercise (walk or pilates) when I can fit it in, usually a few times a week. I…

HI Rachspro ... I found a Zumbe calculator on line by googling it. It might have been on zumba.com, not sure. Anyway, I found out for my weight, a 45 minute moderate zumba workout burns 429 calories. I just started the class and love it.

You look fantastic! Thanks for sharing. The pics are definitly encouragment!

J!Wright .... that is fantastic news! Knowing you've lost so much, so quickly really encourages me. I've been doing myfitnesspal for about 18 days and have only lost a couple of pounds. I'm hoping that by throwing Zumba into the mix it'll come off faster. I'll have to look into Zumba 2 for the Wii! Thanks! :flowerforyou:

Good for you, Jillian! You are my hero! Thanks for the input. Someone mentioned doing Zumba on the Wii ... I must look into that. We have one, or I should say my son does. That might be fun.
-
HI ... thanks for the feedback! What Zumba DVD's do you recommend? I've signed up for a class that meets one night a week, but I'd like to do more at home if possible. Thanks for the input!
