It's about 21lbs for me with each size overlapping a little at each end.

Another UK daily logger here. I've been here for years and will be here for a few more to come! Always love new friends, so take a look at my profile and send a message if you'd like to add me. Good luck to everyone!

Thanks both for your replies. @OKfarmgal - I was looking at Rosetta Stone, but reluctant to pay so much without hearing people's experiences. @Quasita - I shall have a look at Duolingo, sounds good.

My physiotherapist advised strongly against using them.

5'10 and currently 230lbs. My calories vary according to my exercises, which are a mix of strength training with some cardio and how I feel on the day. Generally I do TDEE -20% so intake can be anything from 1500 - 2000+. I want to lose the fat and keep the muscle and hope that by doing strength training I can reach my…

Calorie intake is my main priority then the only other target I really try to meet is fibre, the rest fits in each day according to how I feel, what exercise I am doing and what I fancy to eat.

Yep, me too!

Hi! You've been given some great advice already and the links provided really are worth reading. Just take it one day at a time, don't slash your calories drastically. Make small doable changes. Don't stress about not being able to exercise much yet, that will come gradually in time and you don't need to exercise to lose…

I feel your pain, my Achilles gave out on me on the treadmill in June this year, I could barely walk for 3 days after that. The best thing you can do to help your Achilles are eccentric heel drops, they really do work. Here's a link:…

I second this recommendation, a really good site that's simple to use and seems to cover everything. Good luck!

Brilliant achievement. I looked through your pics, you look like a different person! Well done!

I do body weight exercises and love it. I take photos regularly and can see the changes, especially in my legs, bum and arms, I've been doing it regularly since July, after injuring my Achilles in June, but got into a more structured routine in August. It takes a bit of a kick up the backside to do it some days, but seeing…

I've had my fitbit for about a year or so and have found its TDEE to be pretty spot on for me.

Hi! I'm in the UK, have around 4 stone or 60lbs to go....I eat much more than you though! Lol...I like to eat! Take a look at my profile and then if you fancy drop me a message with a friend request. Good luck!

Thanks for this. I've can do the arms no problem, but not sure I'm doing the tilting right. I clench my glutes, but don't really understand what is meant by pulling my pubic bone towards my belly button and pushing my tail bone towards my feet........I guess practice and time will tell if I am doing it right.

No they're not.

I have an 11mm gallstone. I knew for a while I had one, and it was likely caused by my binge eating of high fatty foods over a number of years. I finally had a horrendous attack at 4am one morning. I thought I was going to die, the pain was so bad. It lasted for 4 hours. I had another milder attack due to eating 2 jars of…

Yes, that's the kind of thing I am trying to do, just the dip and back up to start with, gradually taking it lower then building from there......If it starts to niggle my knees I'll leave it, try something else then come back to the lunge in a month or so. A few months ago I could barely squat so I know that persistence…
-
Thanks. Lunges simply kill my knees, always have, but I'm bloody minded enough that I'll get them done in the end! I'll report back on the book and how I find it in due course. Love your Avatar and name btw!

Yes, thanks, I have the book on order already.
