I had to buy new shorts a size down - most of my regularly worn work pants/shorts are all so baggy they will fall down if I don't wear a belt. I also had to up my shirt size a few years ago; now I'm starting to order them the size down again. Feels good.

Quick update - have managed to be much better with this. Even better, I managed to drop my A1C down over .5 points in two months, thus keeping me from being classified as Type 2. My mini goal is to continue dropping down, so I can get out of the pre-diabetic range all together. The bonus, is I'm losing weight as I go, and…

Staying within my glucose range the majority (or all) of the day. Doing good, but not as well as prior to holiday season with all the get-togethers. But still keeping happy. Would like to continue to consistently drop farther into range by the end of the year.

I was prepared to buy an expensive rower...then realized the Concept2 would do what I needed and I could find videos etc. on youtube or other places for much less than those expensive machines' monthly contracts. I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

I'm going to have a busy summer, presuming the pandemic doesn't rear its ugly head again. I am not quite at my heaviest, having lost a few pounds recently, but I am determined to lose weight and reduce my obesity. I really, really don't want diabetes, so I'm taking some steps. I've recently started using the RowErg and…

Welcome back! Good luck on you're efforts here.

I take water, yeast, and grain and mix them up using large pots and then let them sit around in other large pots for a while before moving them around to bottles, which then sit in the bathtub. Sometimes, the concoction gets moved to yet another metal pot and then I add gas to it. Fun stuff.

Hit 50 a few months back. Good to hear from folks closer to my age.

I love craft beer and have one shelf in my refrigerator taken up by them. I also started home brewing, so no, I won't be giving up my beer. I do drink in moderation and not every single night. I log them all though and take their calories into account when deciding how much or what to sip. If I know I'm going to have more…

I've cut way back on my creamer use (pretty much only use 1/2 the allotted creamer serving) and drink some of my coffee black. I rarely drink a fancy coffee, meaning latte or whatnot, as the extra calories just aren't worth it. I also don't like my coffee sweet, so I don't add any sweetners to it, including the flavored…

I do have a scale, but I don't use it for everything. I just started using it again to help me confirm portion sizes while logging. I had a long layoff from my healthy habits and recently started paying attention to this type of thing again. Once I get comfortable "eye-balling" things again, I'll use the scale for spot…

All things dull and ugly All creatures short and squat All things rude and nasty The Lord God made the lot

Actually paying attention to portion sizes. Really saw how much extra food I was consuming when I started adding everything up.

Great job! You look so happy, I'm thrilled for you.

Just music and people watching (while on the elliptical). Just music the remainder of the time.

Congratulations on your accomplishments so far. If you've made it this far, I'm sure you'll be successful with the next component at the gym. I'm sure you'll get lots of advice, but take the small wins as you go. I started my fitness component by walking for 15 minutes and then working my way up. Once I got used to walking…

Congrats to you! Nothing to be scared of, but definitely to be exhuberant over. Good for you, you are doing the right thing. Change can be scary and still be good :)

Born and raised in San Jose, but now reside in So Cal. Still a Bay Area Sports fan with Sharks season tickets. Go Niners!

I have my weight loss goals broken down into my "milestone" weights, roughly every 20 lbs. Just hit my first one after several months of trying, mostly due to a long break in the fall. I like the idea of a daily short-term goal to go with my weekly goal of being under my calorie goals/macro goals (still haven't hit the…

It's what you do in the long term, not the short term, that counts. One day will not kill your weight-loss attempt. You shouldn't feel guilty for that. Just go right back to eating healthier and keeping under your calorie goal and you'll be fine. It's ok to have "off days" as long as you don't do them too often.

Way to go! Congratulations, that's quite an accomplishment.

I could use some more friends too - not new, but it's always nice to have more support around. I log every day. Feel free to add me.

Looking good! Very inspirational photos.

Hang in there! I knew I was going to have that problem, so when work offered a $25 gift card in the "Maintain or Lose" program, I signed up. That way, I have to stay within 2 lbs of my starting weight. I've found that as long as I stay within my diet on most days, I can still splurge on the holiday (or party day,…

From my starting weight, I had about 80 lbs to lose - I'm down16, but that's only after a relapse (or two or three). I still have about 50 lbs to go. Feel free to add me if you'd like. I can always use support. I'm fairly active in logging in and on here everyday.

Nice job!
