• I just started stage 2 this week. I am eating at maintenance and doing the program 3 days a week. In the 5 weeks it took me to get through the first stage I went down 2 pant sizes! No change in weight but that doesn't matter to me anymore. Enjoy!!
•
" I'll have to look into that, because sometimes I log my workouts, see the calorie result, cry BS and cut it in half. I'm sorry, a one hour boxing work out is not 700 calories. "
I box for an hour every day and my HRM reads between 850-950 each class. I am 5'4, 173, and female. It is definitely possible.
• I was in a car accident last summer that resulted in three broken ribs and some lung tissue damage. Working out was completely out of the question for about 3 months. I had to set my goal to 0.5-1 lb a week loss instead of the 2 lb a week because I wouldn't have the extra calories to eat back. My progress slowed for those…
• I do this too and it has been pretty successful
• If you can run for 25 min straight already the C25K program will not be challenging enough for you most likely. It is designed for people who are very new to running. Try to find it in Google. There are also 10K and half training programs that might be more your speed. I use the Zen Labs phone app. Makes it really easy to…
• I like to make my own 'lean cuisine' meals. I make enough salmon, wild rice, steamed broccoli/carrots/cauliflower (for example) for a weeks worth of lunches. Then measure and separate into 5 microwaveable containers and throw them in the freezer. I just have to grab one each day on my out the door. I pre-cut and package my…
• My boyfriend told me I was looking 'SMOKIN HOT' in my undies this morning!
• I had this problem for a long time. I moved my workouts to right after work (5:30 pm) then have a protein packed dinner after my post workout shower. The dinner keeps me full and the tired muscles from the workout remind me that the snacking just wasn't worth wasting the effort I put into the workout! Also, I make sure I…
• I like to throw a frozen banana, scoop of protein powder, PB2, and light soy milk into a blender. About 330 cal. and 35g protein. Keeps me full till lunch and it is easy and FAST!
• I lost something like 18 pounds during the first month and not a single pound the second month. But I did lose about 10 inches around my waist and hips and 3-4 inches around my arms and thighs.
• the longer I watch it the funnier it gets
• You can add me! I log in everyday!
• from what i have gathered from reading other posts, your muscles hold water after a hard workout as a way to repair themselves. the extra water being held in your body could account for the 'gain' but, i am not a doctor so you would have to research this...
• MFP has me set at 1200 and I eat back about half my workout calories. Averaging about 1500 total calories eaten a day. I have lost 2lbs a week very consistently. I have energy and feel great. My two cents: if you aren't feeling sluggish and grumpy, and your losing... I think it's fine where you are at. Give it a try for a…
• Headed to Vegas to meet up with college girlfriends next weekend then down to New Mexico to visit my boyfriend! Haven't seen any of them in at least 6 months. Non of them have seen my weightloss yet! Can't wait!
• when you can step out of the shower and wrap a NORMAL size towel around yourself! No more bath sheets or beach towels for me!
• If you eat back all 700 that you BURNED earlier then those calories would just equal each other out. -700+700=0. Then your total intake for the day would just be the 1200 or whatever MFP allocates with the 500-1000 ALREADY SUBTRACTED! I've lost a little over 20 lbs in 10 weeks doing this. 2lbs a week, like clockwork.
• Jen, it can be possible to relate to someones situation without having all the terms the EXACT same. I'm pretty sure the original post was just about hearing someone make a "your obsessed" comment. My roommate is unhappy with her weight but eats horrible and spends all of her nights watching TV (which I used to do with…
• Glacier National Park!! The most beautiful place I have EVER been!! but its in my back yard so i am biased.
• I hear ya! I started my second cycle of Insanity last week and decided to add morning runs in three or four days a week (because I LOVE how I feel after a good run and because my dog is getting chubby!) My roommate just rolled her eyes and told me I was crazy and obsessive. Nice, huh?!
• I gain 7-9 that week. I know it's just water weight but it is still discouraging to see it on the scale. I put my scale away during my TOM now.
• I just finished Insanity on Sunday and started at 229 lbs (5'4 also). It is intense for sure but you control the pause button. If you do start the program just remember that you do not have to keep up with the people in the video. Just do what you can. I promise it will still be a workout and you WILL improve. Good luck…
• I lose a bunch for several weeks in a row and then the scale stops moving for a couple weeks... then the cycle repeats. And it always ends up averaging 2lbs a week at the end of the cycle. I don't think you should sweat one week of no movement. Just stick to what you are doing and be patient. I have found that measurements…
• if the machine has you enter age and weight it is probably the more accurate estimate
• if you wear a fit bit you should know exactly how many calories you burn during the day. no need to use an equation. just make sure you are eating 500-1000 less then that and you should loose 1-2 lbs a week. that is what I do and it works like clockwork.
• I reward myself with gifts! At ten pounds I bought myself a new pair of running shoes and at twenty pounds I plan to get a new pair of Toms that i have been eyeing. They are a tangible reminder of how far I have come and all the hard work I have done. If I am craving something I plan for it and have a sensible portion…
