  • Editorgrl: I purchased a FitBit Zip over the weekend and your post answered all of the questions I've had about it. It's been syncing fine with MFP. I put the Sync USB thingy in at night when I finish my MFP logging, click on the FitBit app that comes up and sync it. The biggest reason I got it was for personal…
  • Do you need to buy anything other than the video to do this?
  • Now I can officially say I have completed the C25K. This evening I ran right after an 18 mile bike ride. I ran a route I know is 3.6 miles. Even though I could run for 35 minutes I had yet to run the whole thing without walking at the end. Tonight I ran 3.8 miles at an average of 5.3 mph! C25K works!! I could have never…

  • Completed my fat 5k, but had to walk it! There is no "but" after "completed my 5K". You started. You finished. You'll get faster if you want to and are aBle to. I am one of those "but" people so I am recognizing myself in your posting and then saying what others have said to me!! Great job!!
  • Count me in. Just minutes ago I got an email from the library saying that my request for 30DS is waiting to be picked up. Thought I would try it before I buy it. Can't ignore that kind of coincidence!
  • Went back and read every bodies posts. Congrats to you all!! @alohabei. If you can see a Sports Medicine doctor -do it. The first the I tried C25K I pulled my Achilles Tendon and thought I was resting enough between runs. Well... It got worse quickly and I spent 3 months in physical therapy, limping and frustrated. Noe I…
  • Way to go yogibella! I did W9D2 last week but it's been wicked hot here (Minnesota of all places) and so I haven't finished the last official run yet. It looks like I may be able to tomorrow after work. my 30 minute run distances have been 2.4 miles and 2.7 miles so maybevI can hit 3.1 miles for my last one. If not, I'll…
  • Thank you! It does feel great, even a day later! I expected to be more sore than I am. All is good!
  • First of all, have you tried one of the C25K (Couch to 5K) audio programs or apps? It is an interval 9 week training program. I use an app on my iPod touch that has a friendly British female voice encouraging me. Still, I was asking myself that very same question when I began my 30 minute run this afternoon. I am on Week 9…

  • Thanks all! I am still buzzed about it. I use a pedometer app on my iPod touch to get an idea of mph or min/mi. I think it had a user error problem because it only counted 4 STEPS. But because I had all those good endorphins running through me I just laughed! It felt like I was running a solid 5mph. So, at that pace, I…
  • Way to go johnny_66!!! We middle-agers can get it done! .
  • I'm in. I'm 5'5" and started at 171. At last weeks weigh in I was 164. I am training for a YWCA Women's Sprint Triathlon on August 12th. It's my first. I watched two friends do it three years ago and swore I would do it someday. I was 53....
  • Your story is an example of why I read the Success Stories and why they keep me going on my own journey. I am so proud of you! Congratulations!

  • What a great story! Yes-keep going!
  • Wow! Can't wait to hear about your experience! Congratulations!
  • Whew!! Just finished W7D2! I don't know how fast I ran (my pedometer is goofy) or how far (ditto), I just know I finished it - strong but beat. I know I will finish the C25K (30 minutes) but I think I will still have a lot of work to do to run 3.1 miles - and do it without music and the wonderful trainer gal with the…
  • Go ahead and slow down! My walking pace when I started was under 3.0 mph and I didn't break 4.0 in running until week 6. This time I made sure I was enjoying it instead of pushing it. Good luck.
  • Thanks ;)
  • Looking forward to my first 5K in August. I too would NEVER have considered myself a runner until now.
  • Google C25K or Couch to 5K. Or if you have a smart phone or iPod touch there are apps. All Free! This is my first posting. How do I post so I am answering someone else's post? When I hit reply within someone else's post it goes to a new posting. Aarrggghhh
  • I have an iPod touch. There are a lot of C25K apps. But before I had an iPod I had a MP3 player. There is a Couch to 5K website and I found directions on how to download training audio. I think there are a bunch of websites now.
  • Thank you so much! I kept checking the pedometer app on my iPad touch and it kept saying 5.5 average pace. It usually says 4.2!
  • Agreed. I get so much support -from essentially lurking on the Success Story forum. Someday I'll start posting....
  • I am about to head out for W7D1 run. I am 57 years old and have NEVER been a runner. Now I look forward to it. I've learned the hard way how important giving my body a day or two off to rest is. It took months to recover from Achilles tendinitis the first time I tried C25K two years ago. My ultimate goal? The Minneapolis…
  • Thank you for sharing your journey. I am convinced that MFP is transforming people's lives and you are evidence of that! Is it possible that you are better off having had your success with MFP and all your hard work rather than bariatric surgery? You've been dealing with the mental and the physical issues over the last…
