Having a reason that doesn't fail me. A food scale. Daily intentional exercise.

My highest was 210lbs on my own and 227lbs in pregnancy. I'm now down to 166lbs (lowest was 164lbs a few weeks ago) and my goal is to be in the 130s. I'm 5'3.5" tall. Add me if you like!

How long has it been since your last surgery? It can take months for the muscles and soft tissues to fully heal.

I'm a newer mom. My daughter is almost 10 months old. I gained only 17 pounds during her pregnancy and started out the pregnancy morbidly obese. I committed a few days before her birth that I would be as close as possible to a healthy weight by the time she is old enough to remember. At that time I had 90-100 pounds to…

Carrot curry soup is amazing.

I just had homemade chicken soup. Chop carrots, celery, onions, garlic. Sprinkle with ground pepper and chicken seasonings. Cube 100g of chicken breast. Water to cover. Bring to a boil, simmer 2 hours. Add salt to taste.

It took at least 30 pounds before anyone (other than people who knew I was trying to lose weight) said anything. Now that I'm double that, almost everyone who hasn't seen me in a while comments. I like to hear it but I'm not doing this for the compliments, I'm doing it for me.

I eat that many almost every day and I've lost 62 pounds in 10 months. I'd say plenty of people can eat 50% of their intake as carbs provided their total calorie intake creates a deficit.

Your intake will depend on your goals. If you want to lose weight, eat at maintenance for yourself as a bare minimum. Exclusively breastfeeding a 3 month old burns between 300 and 700 calories daily but probably on the higher end of between 500 and 700 calories. Just exclusively nursing and eating at maintenance calories…

I recalculate when I notice my loss occurring too quickly or start to slow down over a few weeks. I've adjusted my intake (both up and down) about ten times in 9 months.

You can do what you choose for your weight loss. Be aware of the calorie content and account for it. I personally had peanut m&ms as my must have treat for quite a while. I learned very quickly that portion control with them was a challenge so I put allowed portions of them into containers and prelogged. After a few weeks,…

I pretty much do the same as you OP. I tend to like eating 300-400 calories for breakfast and lunch each, then have a large dinner of around 1000 calories, give or take a bit depending on the day. Sometimes I half the calories for supper and have a snack of the remaining amount while I watch Netflix.

1700 is my bare minimum intake goal. I also eat back all my exercise calories and breastfeed so I average more like 1900-2100 consumed daily. I am losing between 0.75 and 1.5 pounds a week.

Welcome to the most straightforward reality I've ever experienced. Live the equation, love it, profit.

I have experienced absolutely no correlation for hunger or cravings at any specific time in my cycle. I don't experience any changes in appetite relating to my cycle. I'm roughly the same amount of hungry every day.
-
Good for you! I started pregnancy at 210lbs and got up to 227lbs on delivery day. The next time I weighed, baby was 2 weeks old and I was 195lbs. Baby is now 9 months and I'm at 165lbs. I'm still about 25 pounds above a normal BMI but I am at my lowest ever adult weight. Ha.. I am lower than I was in high school. Honestly,…

I just took a break a week ago and I'm back at it. It feels very refreshing and I feel a great deal better about continuing on my healthy methods of fat loss after maintenance for a week. I've lost 60 pounds and have 30-40 more to go.
-
I could never be happy eating at 1200 calories. I occasionally net 1200 after a particularly active day but I consume 1700 or more daily. It takes a bit more time to lose the weight but I don't hate my life.

Gained 7 pounds in a week long holiday and three days after holiday it was down to a gain of 3. Three is probably accurate.

My weekly weight loss rate has been below a pound (around 0.5-0.75lbs weekly) for the last six months. I don't find it discouraging at all. Slow loss feels better for me than fast loss and I seem to be able to maintain the loss easier without feeling ill as I get closer to goal. Also, the smaller deficit allows me to enjoy…

Whole30 is not a diet for weight loss. It is an elimination diet to establish allergies or food sensitivities: nothing more than that. Anyone who loses weight while eating on plan is in a calorie deficit. You can be in a calorie deficit eating doughnuts and coffee only. Whole30 would be more nutritionally fulfilling than…

I've lost more than 60 pounds eating 50-60% of my intake as carbs. They are my friend: confidently and securely so. I would be sooooo miserable eating low carb.
-
I don't believe in intentionally abstaining from any food in a permanent way. It sets me up for misery and failure to think this way. I did a whole30 month and hated every single second, was hungry all the time, and I was mean. Life is too short to be in that kind of misery. Instead, I often make choices which remove…

Different bodies will have different looks. There's nothing wrong with that. I agree with UKWildcatDave - work with what you have.

Talk to your doctor about what is allowed and not. And also why they aren't doing something about the prolapse. You shouldn't have to put up with that the rest of your life.
-
My warm up is walking up and down my house stairs 5-8 times. Then I just to it.

I don't cut anything out of my life because it just leads to failure for me. I have to be very careful about Peanut M&Ms. I have to portion them out into good for me portions and then put them away and out of my mind or I will sit and eat them. Same goes for chips and popcorn. I genuinely don't have a problem with anything…

Daily. I like to see my variability and use happy scale to see my trend.

I looked into it while doing research with someone else several months ago (we both were contemplating it) and after reviewing a ton of clinics and all the statistics I could find during that time, I came to the conclusion that bariatric surgery was not a choice I could recommend in good conscience to that person or…

I hate to be the annoying person who tells you no, but no. Trust me when I say that healing your injury is so much more important than the changes to your fitness while you heal this injury. Now is not the time to be recommitting to new or different exercise. Your body needs time and energy to heal the injury you…
