  • When I was working out I tried to eat the exercise calories...but I admit it was sometimes really hard to eat them all because I just wasn't hungry enough.
  • I actually relate well to Valerie Bertenelli - we're similarly sized - and she looks AWESOME...for now:happy:
  • Oh sorry - it's HypOthyroidism...underactive...guess I was typing fast. I actually didn't know that about just being in a wide "range" of what is considered "OK". I'll look into registered dieticians...just hope they're not too expensive...my hubby was laid off in Feb. He's working part time now, but funds are…
  • Actually, my ribs didn't show at 105 - I looked just right, lol  I have heard of adding some calories - but I just can't seem to bring myself to do it - it's hard enough eating the calories I am supposed to and keeping it healthy - I'm afraid adding more calories will make me GAIN weight and then I'm even more…
  • I do have hypthyroidism, but my last check up said I was just fine with my meds. I'm not shooting for my high school weight - that would be 90 pounds. 105 is what I weighed when I lost weight after my 2nd son was born. I now weigh 148 3 years after my 3rd baby was born...which is ridiculous. I just want to get back to that…
  • Yes, of course I would be proud - and my confidence would be majorly boosted. But, (forgive me if this sounds harsh - don't mean it to) - I'm not going to compare myself to celebrities who have tons on MONEY and tons of STAFF to watch the kids, pay for the gym, have a personal trainer and nutrionist, etc. If I had all of…
  • Oo..me..mee! Shannon Starting weight: 148 Current weight: 147 Major goal: 105 (I'm 5 feet tall) Mini goal: ?? don't have one - just working out, eating right, and praying for that scale to move down! I'm a mom of 3 boys, ages 9, 5, 2. Will celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary Aug. 12. I work from home for an…
  • LOL! That's why I picked him - he's the kid who wouldn't sneak some. My 5 and 2 year old? The chocolate would be gone in 5 minutes!
  • OK. I couldn't bring myself to pitch them - but I had my 9 (almost 10) year old son stash them somewhere and he can't tell me where.
  • i don't think I could handle smelling it all day!!! lol I'm in Wisconsin - in a rural, farm area - I smell manure all day.
  • Thanks, and I'm glad I'm not the only one to wonder that! LOL
  • I LOVE the DVD. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing ANY change on the scale, and I didn't measure myself before I started. However, I know I'm doing better because at first I couldn't even get through it without stopping for a short rest - now I can make it all the way through level 1 without cheating. Thinking of moving to…
  • Congrats! I can't wait for that day! Currently, my wedding ring is permanently lodged on my finger. I can NOT get it off (tried every trick in the book - docs couldn't even get it off for X-rays awhile back) - and I don't want to cut it off. So...guess I'll just have to stay motivate - lose weight - and hopefully someday…
  • So...I'm also STARVING today - first time all week I've actually been hungry. Strange... Anyway...I'm wondering how eating MORE calories (1400) as suggested earlier could help me lose weight?! I don't get that one. I haven't measured before this - but I did this morning...so I'll see how my progress goes there. Maybe, if I…
  • I appreciate everyone's encouragement, and I won't give up. But, I'm just having a hard time understanding how if I can't count on my weekly weigh ins - then how can I be convinced that I'll ever actually lose anything? I mean - oh well, I gained 1.5 pounds this week - next week maybe lose it - the next week gain it back -…
  • Thank you! Sounds so simple...I'll definitely check labels more.
  • Thank you everyone! You all are so great! I really expected to get a lecture...it's refreshing how supportive the folks here are. So...the to pp on fruits and veggies who lost 34 lbs. in 9 weeks - do you eat anything else at all? Even at dinner? If not - are all the veggies raw and crunchy or do you cook them? I would love…
  • Me too!!!!! It's so frustrating.
  • Yup! There are some exercises that help over time. Don't have them all here - but I remember one is just making the letters of the alphabet with your foot in the air everyday. My podiatrist created inserts for my shoes and that helped TREMENDOUSLY. Also - never go barefoot. Mine used to be excruciating as well, and it is a…
  •   I can see this is going to be a fun place to be! :drinker: :drinker: drinking my water, Dave!
  • LOL, very funny. I guess I was reading "cup" but thinking "glass". Glad I'm actually closer to the amount of water I need per day than I thought
  • I actually had a wake up call like that a few years ago. It was after my 2nd son was born and I hadn't lost the weight. We took a family photo and I was HORRIFIED at how I looked. So...that very moment I started eating right and exercising (did weight watchers back then) and I lost it all and then some in just a few…
  • Completely off topic - but I just had to mention that my name is Shannon and from the looks of your signature you're a band teacher - and so was I for many years. Just found that ironic! To the original post - SCREW HIM. Really! You KNOW you're busting your butt. You KNOW you're losing weight and fitting into your clothes…
  • Thank you! I didn't even think of going to the food log and checking! Like I said, it's my first day-good tip! OK. So, here's another question popping into my head as I peruse the site: I marked myself as "light" activity when it asked when I registered. How do I know if I put that accurately? Some days are busier…
