  • I have a couple. 1) When I started C25K I had a friend running with me. In the early weeks she was having to really encourage me and cheer me on. As the weather got colder she had to stop running with me b/c she didn't have any cold weather running gear. On days that get to at least 40F she can run. We finished C25k a week…
  • Mine is getting looser, but I've attributed that to losing weight. I have the back clasp at the middle hook where it used to be at the loosest. Every once in a while I have to tighten up the shoulder straps again but I'm so used to having to do that with regular bras that I don't even think about it. The one I have now is…
  • I hate water also. I've found that Mio flavoring helps. There are also lots of other water flavor additives out there now. Yes, you are getting some artificial sweetners that a lot of people don't like but I say if it helps you in drinking the water period its still better than even diet sodas. Are you exercising at all?…
  • I have the Armour Bra by Under Armour. I'm a DD and while there is still some bounce (with girls this big there will always be bounce) it isn't as bad and I feel more secure. The model I have is older than the one's they have now but I would definately buy another. I've finished C25K and plan on building my mileage…
  • WOW, you look amazing. Congratulations on your success! I am so jealous that you got to meet all those Drs and companions.
  • I've known people who did each week twice. You can make the program as long as you need it. The important part is that you're getting out there and exercising. Run slow enough that you can still talk. This will help make sure you're not running too fast. You shouldn't be completely out of breath. Good luck!
  • I like this. I've also heard "I eat breakfast. I just eat it later and call it lunch"
  • This is from a few days ago but I just remembered it after reading some of the "sugar is evil" threads lol. I was in CVS and saw those big pouch/bags of mint M&M's. I love those. I can eat a whole pouch in an hour and a half and not feel bad. I took one off the shelf, looked at the nutrition label...and put it back. Didn't…
  • Thanks Vismal. I'm going to read and bookmark that for next time she's over.
  • Me too! Congratulations :)
  • Can someone link a study/paper that supports skipping breakfast isn't horrible? My SIL seriously scolded me because I don't eat breakfast saying that I need to eat it to lose weight. I've lost over 15lbs since September and I rarely eat breakfast. I like saving those calories for a slightly larger lunch or dinner. Sure if…
  • I try not to eat all of my exercise calories back but I do tend to eat some of them (usually up to about half). If you're still hungry and you have calories, then eat. Heck, I had a ton of extra calories yesterday that I didn't eat back. If I happen to go over today I'm not going to feel bad about it. I only do a 24-30…
  • I looked in mirror the other day and could finally see a difference. Up to then I could see it in my face and that my jeans were getting loose. Now I can actually see it in the mirror. Also I had a Dr. appointment today. My blood pressure went from 124/78 in Aug to 102/68 today!
  • On Sunday I ran a 5K. Ran the whole thing which was my goal. I didn't run fast but I got through it without walking. I got the official race pictures in my email Wednesday night and sent one to a friend. His first comment was that I'm looking "a bit more svelte" than when he saw me in July. I'm even wearing a hoodie in the…
  • I can't eat fewer than a couple hours before I run. If I do I get horrible stomach cramps. I don't think that counts as fasted but I usually run sometime between lunch and dinner.
  • I'm going to need to find and try some of these fruit teas people keep mentioning. Currently sipping some English Breakfast with milk and sugar
  • Wow,I think this is the first "what am I doing wrong" post I've seen where the OP doesn't argue against everything suggested. Good Luck OP!
  • Don't tell my husband, but I'm looking forward to my boobs decreasing. I'm currently a 38DDD and all the tops/dresses I like and cute bras don't translate well to a bigger bust size. I don't lift (yet) so someone else will have to confirm/deny, but aren't there some weight lifting exercises OP can do to build the muscles…
  • My sister in law lost a lot of weight leading up to my wedding. She "looked" too skinny but it was only because I wasn't used to seeing her that size. She was working with a nutritionist at her job so I had every reason to believe she was still a healthy weight. Now that it's several years later I've gotten used to her new…
  • Thank you for that link! I'm going to start using it like you do.
  • There are lots of podcasts out there that you can download if you have an mp3 player. Just Google "C25k podcast". Some have music, some have coaching to help you focus on your breathing and form.
  • This is the scale I have. I don't do it really any more but I have weighed myself before using the toilet and then weighed myself after. It marks the difference even if I only peed.
  • My plan for special occasions (anniversary, birthdays, holidays) is to keep to my calorie all the other days of that week and not worry about that special day. My husband and I are going out to celebrate his birthday this evening. I've tried to keep my calories down for the day so far but for dinner...not gonna worry.…
  • I have 3 NSV's today! 1)A month a go my jeans were tight. This morning I had to put on a belt b/c they keep falling. 2) My husband today told me that he's noticed when we're snuggling there isn't as much of me to snuggle. 3) I completed C25K Week 5 Day 3 today. With the app and settings I have that means I ran two miles…
  • I run in my neighborhood. My husband knows where I run/the route I take and I always let him know when I'm leaving. I use my phone for music and to run the app so I have that with me too. I also try to stay aware of my surroundings.
  • If you have a preset playlist The Rundouble app can play it in order or shuffled.
  • Thanks everyone. It's not logged at this point anyway and I already had a pretty good deficit after going for my normal run. :)
  • I have congenital hypothyroidism (born with it) and I haven't always been great at taking my medication. Once the Dr. gets your medication stabilized you'll see some real results. The medication itself will help shed some pounds but exercise and eating sensibly will speed up the process. For now just keep doing what you've…
  • I use RunDouble. It has two settings. You can do timed intervals or distance intervals. Since my goal is to actually make it up to running 5k, no matter how slow, I use the distance. The first two weeks are free (and timed intervals no matter which program you're going to do) but after that it's like $1.59. If you register…
