I have a fitbit zip and I love it! I wear it every day, it tucks nicely on the inside of my belt so I don't accidentally knock it off and lose it. It has really motivated me to get up and move more!

Gold Bond (don't laugh!) makes a product similar to body glide. It's called "Friction defense". Works nicely.

Did you address those concerns with your physician? Because those are really only questions he or she can answer for you.

I'm just getting started, but this hit home for me. I finally relented and went kayaking with my wife a few months back. Other than the fact that I was woefully out of shape and struggled with steering the &#*@ thing, I enjoyed it... but I realized that I would have enjoyed it more if I was fit and not obese. Thanks!

I'm also doing it on the treadmill. Just too hot in Alabama in the summertime to be fat, out of shape and running. Once I get a little more in shape and a little less fat I'll try moving it outside.

My wife and I both started yesterday. I successfully completed it last year, but sadly (and I won't make excuses) ended up back on the couch instead of continuing my training. You can do it! If this fat boy can, anyone can!

That is awesome. I used Chantix to quit using tobacco almost 2 years ago. Sometimes I still have a craving during a really stressful time or when I'm really bored, but I have a great support system that keeps me on the right path! You can do it!

I DID IT! It took two tries, but I made it through week 5 day 3 this morning! The first time I tried, I hadn't slept well because of my wife's hospital stay and keeping up with the kids, I was dehydrated (I thist out about halfway through my run)... It just wasn't working. Made it 15 minutes. Got up, tried again this…

Same as most here. I'm about to start week 6 (Did my 20 min run this morning! I can't believe it!). I'm not terribly interested in doing a 5k right away, especially in the Alabama summer heat and humidity. My church is doing a Midnight run 8k soon, but I'm not going to be ready in time for that. I'm SLOW. All you people…

I've used the NHS and the Chubby Jones (which were a little girly for me, but she was funny so I used them for a while.) I mix them up to keep the music fresh during the weeks where you do the same routine over and over. Today I did my 20 min week 5 day 3 run and just used my music on my iPod and the timer on the…

I did w5d2 today and will do day 3 Friday or Saturday depending on when my wife gets out of the hospital... :-\ I had already decided to just use my workout playlist instead of the NHS podcast for my 20 min run, and I'm glad to see other folks are already doing it that way. I just don't see needing Laura to tell me I'm…

Looking great, man!

I'm in week 4. I've lost about 2 pounds overall, probably water weight. It's not moving as fast as I want, but my clothes are fitting better and I've lost about an inch around my belly in the last week or so. I just stood up from a meeting and one of my coworkers asked "Have you lost weight?" I don't care what I weigh... I…

Yep... repeat week 3 if it is kicking your rump. No shame! You're still lapping all those people on the couch! Keep up the good work! It's not about how long it takes, it's doing it that counts!

Decided to hop on the treadmill this afternoon and before I knew it I had run a mile in about 15 min. It is slow, but I did it! I haven't run a milein years, if ever. Certainly haven't done it in 15 min! I can't believe it. C25K really really works!

You can get a good workout without that much money. Treadmills/elliptical can be had for $500 or so (probably less if you look somewhere like Craigslist). Weights, etc are not that expensive either. It adds up, but you can find a lot of it used, or substitute with things you already have around the house. I'm just a…

Like I said in my original post.. if i can do it, anyone can! Was it difficult? Yes. Was it a lot of fun at the time? No. Did I feel awesome when I finished? Yes! I actually went and walked about 30 minutes on my lunch break today... so i'm not even that exhausted. It WILL get easier on my next attempt (and yours!). Don't…

Thanks for all the replies! I'm glad to hear that it go easier for all of you. I kept telling myself during that last 5 min run today "Friday's run will be easier... I can push through now, and it'll be easier next time". I'm glad I wasn't lying to myself  Good luck to all of you!
