Thighs rubbing together. What do you wear?

I'm a Florida girl too! It is stifling hot here right now and while wearing leggings under dresses works well in the winter time, it's not a feasible in the summer.
Two things that I do: 1) Bicycle shorts - they're great! And not too hot. 2) Baby powder!0 -
The sole reason I wear leggings under my skirts is to deal with chub rub! But if it is a really hot & humid day and I don't want the extra clothing I'll either use an anti-chafing cream or deodorant.0

I second wearing compression shorts, the Skimmies or deodorant/bodyglide...Even when I was a size 2 my thighs still rubbed together...0
-
Gold Bond (don't laugh!) makes a product similar to body glide. It's called "Friction defense". Works nicely.0
-
I rub deodorant on my thighs where it rubs.0
-
Bodyglide works wonders...
This was going to be my suggestion. With thighs that can literally smother a school of children I have learned that bodyglide can be your best friend. Also useful for many other areas of chafing (inside of your arms when running or even nips for guys when running. Weird, I know)0 -
I use the body glide stuff from the running store, works for me and if your picture is recent my thighs are larger so this should be a good thing for you! :drinker:0
-
I use Vagisil in the lower regions works wonders0
-
when i was on holiday it was awful in the heat, me and others put some baby powder on and it worked a treat0
-
Petroleum jelly or a&d ointment (not the white zinc based stuff) is what works for me. They usually have the petroleum jelly at the dollar store and it works wonders.0
-
compression shorts
This!
Now I know what you wear under your skirts
All you had to do was ask!0 -
So happy to learn about Bodyglide! I was dying at work last night and I have to walk a ton for my job. How I haven't developed calluses on my upper inner thighs yet is beyond me.0
-
I used to get bad chaffing when I went on long runs. My runner friend told me to just put some vasaline there and it worked like magic0
-
corduroy......may as well have fun while it's happening......
be all zip zip....zip zip.....\m/
until you have to run and then your pants catch fire
bwahhahahahaha omg! My coworkers now are looking at me like; "why are you over there cackling at your laptop!"0 -

I had this issue when I was at my biggest weight, I'm still getting it. I have very close legs. My mother tucked me very well as a baby.
For dresses/skirts, I usually cut old tights that are very fitted and with good material (such that won't roll) and wear them underneath. I don't wear short dresses/skirts so I cut them mid my thigh. They are very sheer tigthts in nude.
I find spandex to much on hot weather and yoga shorts to much (as in material).
At my current weight, if I don't have a lot to walk that day, it's usually enough to rub baby powder on my inner thigh to prevent some rub (but eventually the powder wears off).0 -
I just keep my legs open
Oh really now? Is that so?0 -
Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel - works for dudes too.0
-
I have the same problem..I use Monistat chafing gel...works wonders....0
-
BodyGlide or a generous slathering of Aquaphor0
-
Kama Sutra Honey Dust Body Powder.
I like the chocolate flavor (yes, it's edible).0 -
Most runner will recommend BodyGlide. It's an anti-chafing balm to prevent chafing when running/walking long distances. I've used it and love it!0
-
Glide, it rolls on like deodorant. Works like a charm.0

I wear Jockey Skimmies Slipshorts underneath dresses. They are thin and breathable and I can't even tell that I have them on. I've worn them on some pretty hot days and they are still super comfy.corduroy......may as well have fun while it's happening......

haha so true. I like your style.
Thanks for all the replies. I don't feel so awkward anymore
I'm going to look into those Skimmies/bike shorts. I thought about Spanx but I don't like feeling like I'm having the fat squeezed out of me. Baby powder isn't really an option as I mainly wear black. I've definitely rubbed deodorant up and down my thighs before which works pretty well until it's 90+ outside and I start sweating. The compression shorts I've seen look too short. My problem is located more mid thigh. Idk what they're called but I bought these, "shorts" that are like underarmour that football players wear under their pads and they work really well, they come to almost my knee so in maxi dresses you can't tell I have them on but I can't really wear them with skirts.Body Glide. or one of these two:

They take a little getting use to, I felt like they were going to fall down or start rolling down all the time, but they actually stay in place quite nicely, just don't buy a size that's too small or they will roll down constantly. Once you're use to them though they work really well, and since they are cute it's not embarrassing if the bottom edge shows a little on shorter skirts or if you come home from a date and have them on still.0 -
I wear sliders under my dresses! I haven't had a huge problem since I lost weight with my legs rubbing together. It was only a problem when I was at Disney in May sweating like a pig!0
-
I have used baby powder before. I like the Skimmies idea. I might just have to get some!0

we call them woot woot pants at my place.0 -
My fave is the Assets brand from Target. I buy them way too big so they just stop the wriggling, but don't turn me into a sausage casing. I hate chub-rub.
The trouble is walking on the beach. What do you do then??? It hurts!
Edited to add: I meant I wear a spankie-type thing to prevent the rubbing. And Assets from Target is what I like. I'm needing a nap.0 -

This is what I want to know the answer to! I know body glide would work on the beach, but after you get in the water you'd have to reapply it. That could be embarrassing to do in public. I suppose you could just wear longer shorts or capris, but wheres the fun in that?0
