I feel you, because this was me for a very long time. But I'll tell you, it gets easier the more you do it. Social interaction in general and the gym in particular. There is no way around but through.

In for Brawndo! It's got electrolytes, you know.

I think you'll fit in well here.

Lea, you're amazing. You are one of the reasons why I started lifting 5 months ago, and while I'm not ready to post pics yet, I'm thrilled with my results to date. Thanks to you and all of the women dispelling the "lifting makes you bulky" myth.

Fear is the mind-killer.

Pffft, get out of here with your logic and common sense. More rules! Preferably arbitrary ones!

I love your threads! And the hard work is clearly paying off, because your legs look GREAT.
-
Seconded. Totally hot and badass. And seriously, well done. Your attitude is amazing, your success is inspiring, and you rock that scar.

I can see it in your eyes

Website? Amateur. I've got the app on my phone and a reminder on my calendar for the day they start selling them here.

EVERYBODY TO THE LIMIT!

It's official, food and I are gonna be together forever. You're all invited to the wedding.

No amount of excess fat (or open blinds, or shocked workmen outside, etc.) is gonna stop me from walking around the house naked, so my man sees it all. And he's always liked what he's seen. As an added bonus, he's more able to see the changes in my body as I lose weight than I am, and his honest praise is a good motivator…

Lurks, as always.

Just when I'm ready to give up on the MFP forums, a post like this renews my faith. Well done, you. You are awesome.

Bumping for continued inspiration. I just started lifting, and I'm seeing results every day, but I can't wait to have some amazing "after" shots to post.

I've been doing that with my pre-baby pants. I have a favorite pair that I couldn't get past my thighs 6 months ago. I'm gonna have to retire them soon because they're falling off my hips now. I like the idea of "test" pants, since they're a really concrete way to tell that your body is changing, while the number on the…

No, we're all enjoying watching the text box's contractions. Ah, the miracle of forum life.

Best reply in a thread of great replies. Congratulations, you win at internetting. :-)

That's what I'd have done. But I legitimately am an angry person.

Didn't read the first study, but finally got around to reading this one. The study found that overweight and normal-weight people underestimated calories equally. The only difference was that overweight people chose to eat higher calorie meals, which both groups underestimated more dramatically than lower-calorie meals.…

Underweight people tend to overestimate their own intelligence. There, see, we can both make sweeping and generally unfounded generalizations about large groups of people.

TRUTH.

Banana and 2 T natural peanut butter. Filling, oh-so-good, and right around 300 calories. Or, just use 1 Tablespoon of peanut butter and have a glass of milk with it. That always helps me get mellow and sleepy.

Oh no, you just set yourself back 1/7th of a pound (or one good workout)! ;-) But seriously, unless you plan on never eating donuts again, no reason why you can't have 1 or 3 every now again while losing weight.

THANK YOU! I'm so tired of the "it's not real food" vein of commentary. Does it contain calories? Protein, carbohydrates, fat? Yes? Then it's "real" food. Do they add in extra stuff? Sure. Poison that will strike you dead if you consume a single cheeseburger? Nah.
-
Pfft, do you have any pee reviewed studies to back that up?

I agree. This could've used a trigger warning for us Chapstick bingers. But seriously, I will fight you in the name of strawberry Chapstick.

I'm actually shocked by how good this was. Try adding unsweetened cocoa powder to make it more chocolatey. Nuke it for about 25 seconds to avoid a rubbery texture and leave it a bit gooey. Seriously, I end up disappointed with most of the "diet" recipes that I try, but this was a great brownie stand-in.
