  • Thanks for the list! Scary but very productive! I don't think there are any classes at the gym as it a forces gym (hubby not me in the forces) but it's something to look into as I guess the class forces you to carry on where being on your own you may fail!
  • I've not been looking at the books yet but these websites have been really helpful (and funny): http://paleomg.com/ http://foodgawker.com/?s=paleo http://nomnompaleo.com/recipeindex I'm still in the early stages of Paleo so a lot of my recipies tend to be very simple but my tastebuds have changed already and I really don't…
  • I don't want to preach to you as it's your body to do whatever you want, but I'd seriously re-examine your relationship with alcohol and maybe find other activites to occupy your time. As soon as you switch from heavy drinking to a more healthy lifestyle, I'm fairly sure your excess weight (doesn't sound like you have too…
  • Blimey! You're like a fitness demon! I guess you've really found the passion once you stepped up the exercising - congratulations! Can I be cheeky and ask for a proper run down of the exercise you do in a typical week please and how long each takes. I think I need to step mine up (I took the weekend off and don't feel good…
  • I think I've hit the same problem. I lost a little over 4 pounds during the week I started (mainly because I wasn't eating Christmas food), 1 pound the second week and then nothing. It's so frustrating! After reading through posts on this site and others, I think the reasoning is that the 1200 calorie goal is just too…
  • Bump - tomorrow is time to re-adjust my calorie goal! Barely any movement on the scale and suffering headaches at times means I'm almost definitely not eating enough! Thanks for the easy explanation, apart from the maths ;-)
  • OMG! Paleo rules!!! It's amazing what a difference it can make to your health! When I first joined myfitnesspal I was eating cereal for breakfast, sandwich and crisps for lunch and sandwich/ porridge for dinner. I thought this was ok. I was full (inc. some snacks on the way) but I had literally zero energy. My life used to…
  • Go steady when you call her up on this! This is not the time to make a woman angry or sad! Leave it for now, but maybe tomorrow you could suggest a more gentle exercise (the stretches in yoga seem to help me). I think some women are able to just carry on and work through the pain. I on the other hand, feel (not to be too…
  • When I started on here I wasn't sure on eating my exercise calories and then I read a post where the writer explained in detail why you should. Basically, if you're on a calorie controlled diet of around 1200 calories a day, when you exercise, you knock calories off this amount. For example 200 calories burnt in yoga and…
  • Whoa! What an amazing transformation! Congratulations! Lots of hard work I'm sure but so worth it!
  • Hi, I've bought the 30ds and will start on Feb 1st for a month (I'm building up to it). After reading the reviews on this site, I treated myself to a Polar f4 heart rate monitor (there are some really fancy ones out there but this one seems fine for what I want). I really recommend you buy one as you may be shocked by how…
  • I think that's my decision made then! Polar F4 it is. It did look good and at a reasonable price. Thanks all!
  • Could you try cutting an apple up and having that before you go up to bed? It should keep your body ticking over without being detrimental to your weight loss. Sometimes if I'm hungry, I take a glass of milk up with me. Seems to help (as long as I can fall asleep quickly).
  • Well done on last year's stone weight loss - right now (at my starting point) that sounds amazing! I've used the Wii Zumba a few times and am really struggling with it. I've been to classes before and although it takes a little while to get to grips with the moves, I just about keep up and eventually get the hang of it.…
