  • The gym I used to go to had a regular there who I swear was an oompa loompa in the witness protection program. All he needed was to dye his hair & eyebrows orange. He wasn't a midget technically, more like just over 5 ft, but he had the perfect hair-do & face structure.
  • I too like trance style music, I stream www.di.fm on my phone while I walk usually.
  • I'm curious about the Advocare too. I have a friend that is a distributor, I told her I wanted to run it by my Endo before starting anything. What and how do you take it in relation to your thyroid meds.
  • Good job! I just started 30DS today thanks to all those using it here on MFP.
  • When I used my Bodymedia, I used MFP too for the same exact reason you stated--their food database sucks. I suppose you can do it either way-- set your calorie goal for 2000 and log your exercise (which will probably be a little off from the Bodymedia reporting), or set it for 1500 and not log your exercise. I did the…
  • Our Walmart actually isn't too bad. The produce is fairly good, pretty comparable to our local grocery stores, but everything costs (sometimes a lot) less at Walmart. I really liked when I was a SAHM and could shop during the day when the lines were small or not at all and the only people you had to get around were the…
  • You all are awesome inspiration!
  • Thanks! I'm feeling almost normal finally. I'll have my labs done again in about 2 weeks. I'm curious if this dose has gotten my TSH low enough, it was 2.57 at the end of April. I think the mental battle is the hardest in while trying to lose weight, especially more so with us who now have the additional obstacle to get…
  • I've been on MFP for quite some time, before my TT even. I had nodules and a cyst that turned out to be follicular-variant papillary cancer. I first noticed the lump back in 2003 about 6 months after my 2nd child was born. Went through and ultrasound, fna, and a T99 scan (I was breastfeeding so that was the least invasive)…
  • I think the important thing for levo is that you are consistent. If you fast or don't, take it before or after, continue to do that in following tests so the results are more accurate.
  • Im part of the no panty line group too, thongs are supposed to be in the buttcrack and I don't spend time tryin to dig out wedgies from a pair of ill fitting panties. I want to qualify to all those reading and this makes you nervous about joining a gym.... much of these stories are observations only. There may be some…
  • I never try to figure out the treadmill programming options (like intervals, hills, etc). I get on, I hit quick start, use the arrow buttons to increase speed/incline (or decrease). I think you'll be fine, if you can figure out the basics of the elliptical you can figure out the treadmill. And kudo's to you for going for a…
  • I don't get to hit the gym as often as I'd like anymore but what I see at mine: The Oompa Loompa - why? Cuz this dude looks exactly like the head oompa loompa from the original Willy Wonka movie. All he'd need is a bad orange spray tan and some white paint on his eyebrows. The treadmill pretender - they get on the…
  • Ok, even if this info about margarine isn't true... you can do that experiment with McDonald's food and it will hold true. Yum, huh?
  • Cool! I plan on baking a strawberry cake tonight for the kids for valentines day, I may have to try the Sprite option instead of traditional!
  • Thats what I usually do.
  • I love the 2:1 Protein Bars, especially the White Crispy Crunch ones since they are lower cal, low carb, and tons of protein: Calories 230 Total Fat 7 g Saturated 6 g Polyunsaturated 0 g Monounsaturated 0 g Trans 0 g Cholesterol 10 mg Sodium 200 mg Potassium 0 mg Total Carbs 15 g Dietary Fiber 3 g Sugars 6 g Protein 30 g
  • LOL! And I bet the bean has as much nutritional value as their "meat".
  • I get what you are saying, I think. For example: Nutrition Label: 2 Tbsp Butter = 30 g = xx calories Scale: 1 Tbsp Butter = 28 g = xx calories But since the serving size said 2 Tbsp you ate that, when really it was double what the scale says.
  • Your NET calories should be at least 1200. MFP gives you 1200 as a baseline, that's with your 620 calorie deficit already. If you exercise 325 calories, then your total calories for the day gets bumped up to 1525. You'll see if you eat 1525 calories that you'll have a NET of 1200 still.
  • I'm in this club too. I had high cholesterol at age 17 already, and it's just gone up up up since. The test I had last july showed my total at 280! Besides the typical "lose weight and exercise" most dr's Rx you, mine said to keep my daily cholesterol intake to under 200 mg. I do that well most of the time with my average…
  • I've read of the potassium / sodium connection too. I think a problem with potassium is its one of the nutrients that companies aren't Required to list on the nutrition panel. It doesn't mean a food doesn't have any, but since there isn't any information its hard to track how much you're getting in a day compared to sodium.
in Sodium! Comment by 35again January 2011
  • When I worked with a trainer I put "circuit training". It was easier than trying to list out every exercise she had me do individually.
  • I have it, for the 2nd time. Things that help: TIME (there is no quick fix for this unfortunately), taping the arch, calf/foot stretching several times a day, write the ABCs with your foot when sitting for long periods, massage, icing, wear a night splint (will help with that pain upon getting out of bed), better shoes…
  • And I agree 210% with you! lol
  • Loved my F4, I have a Bodymedia Fit now so I haven't been using my Polar. I do miss being able to see my HR when I'm running and have pondered wearing both when working out.
  • I too say just enjoy it. It's one lunch. If the extra calories really bug you then eat a light dinner and/or work out a little tonite.
  • This morning I saw a guy who, I swear, looked just like one of the original Oompa Loompas. All he needed was white eyebrows and an bad orange spray tan (and be a foot shorter if you're going for actual replica lol). But the face & hair, spot on.
