Autocorrect, carb intake, that should read!

Hi, @Joiha, I haven't got the same health issues as you, but I'm in a similar age group at 48. I've eaten paleo for about 7yrs, I started by eating low GI and gradually reduced my care intake. I would be gentle on yourself if you are making lots of changes and aim for baby steps, as you are trying to make long term…

I haven't been on here for a while, but usually keep track of friends on my home page, I'll try to check in more often. I've been eating paleo/primal for about 7yrs, I started with low GI then went low carb/primal. I was vegetarian then pescetarian in my younger days, but I feel better with less grains/legumes. I tend to…

I've been doing Headspace meditations for a few years now, but have dipped in and out over that time. I do actually sit cross legged, now, but that's 1) on a cushion and 2) because I've been trying to sit on the floor more to develop flexibility. I couldn't have done it to start with, though! I definitely feel better for…

I get so busy with my home feed, I forget to come on the forum! I'm still tracking and maintaining, pretty much. I'm not good at weighing myself, but lost some fat and gained some muscle over the summer and seem to have stayed the same since. I would say this is a tricky time of year for me, as it's so busy with family…

I've been tracking loads, but not very active on the forum either. @GCLyds I think you always need to listen to your body, especially when going through major changes like pregnancy and nursing. If your basing your meals around good, nutritious real food that's always going to be good. I didn't start low carbing or primal…

@MyEvolvingJourney I've sent you a request 😊

@MyEvolvingJourney isn't that all part of the 80/20 rule? I think acknowledging how it affects you is good too. Yesterday, I had some tortilla chips and today we have a sit down lunch at a garden party, so I'm going to allow myself some freedom as it's unlikely to be very paleo, then get back to it properly tomorrow.

heartsaver81 I've sent you a request ☺

@wellnesschaser I hear you, I'm the only one who is paleo in our house. I'm trying to persuade my partner, as he's been told he's pre-diabetic, so at the very least he needs to rein in the sugar and white carbs. @carlsoda welcome. I've been on mfp for ages, but only recently on these boards, because I really need to eat…

@Sabine_Stroehm they sound delicious! I've griddled asparagus when I've done burgers, which are nice, as they take on some of the griddle meat flavour. I bet you could do other veggies like that too...
-
@wellnesschaser We've all been there! I keep using the food notes, to remind myself of how I feel when I eat something not so great. I've done 5 days of no sugar, but feel I'm substituting a small square of dark choc for some greek cheese (feta or halloumi) and black grapes, as well as a little strawberries and cream…

I've started a no sugar week, this week, so have allowed myself a little fruit but no chocolate or condiments with any sugar or sweetener. I've found I've snacked less and it's more of a reset than anything serious. I've upped my weights this week and have got more energy and been more active, I did lots of heavy duty…

Well done on ditching all the bread, processed stuff. I would also agree it's about lifestyle and (for me) I work much better making small changes over time. I came to paleo/primal from eating low GI, so it wasn't such a big change. I have also, always eaten lots of vegetables and unprocessed food, I was vegetarian in my…

Any kind of crudités/raw veg sticks such as cucumber, peppers, celery, carrots, maybe little gem lettuce leaves so you have crunch plus dip. Would low carb vegetable crisps work? Or parmesan crisps, if you do dairy?

Each time I have lost weight (fat) it has started with exercise, I think it might be a mixture of increasing muscle mass and adjusting my mental attitude. I'm making all this effort, I'm not going to blow it with my diet, kind of thing. Also, if I'm moving around a lot I'm less likely to be eating! Much easier in the…
-
@SteamClutch good luck with your Whole30. I find my weights fluctuates quite easily, mostly from water/bloating, I think. I'm trying to lower my bodyfat atm, which is within the healthy range, but I could do with lowering it, as it's crept up a bit. Yesterday was May Bank Holiday, here, so a long weekend. I did quite a…

@madwells1 I need to build more activity into my weekends, too. On schooldays, the walk to school and back, morning and afternoon means I clock up nearly 10,000 steps plus whatever else I do in the day. Weekends, not so much. My youngest does a music class, but that's quite near and yesterday, we went and did a treasure…
-
@HestiaMoon1 I know what you mean about weekends, my children always seem to need feeding. It's tricky to keep to it when the routine's different.
-
@madwells1 I was really joking, I didn't feel great afterwards, so that's good incentive. Back to it yesterday, even though I made a low carb brownie for everyone as a bank holiday treat. It's pretty healthy (and so rich you don't need much), with ground almonds (almond flour), coconut flour, hemp protein powder, eggs,…

@madwells1 I might have blown it by having an ice-cream with dinner today. I didn't feel great after, so that's a good reminder. 80/20. We had roast hake with a "breadcrumbs" topping of milled flaxseed, cajun spice, a little parmesan, herbs.

Hello to @skorpi09irl and @Sabine_Stroehm. I eat a little dairy, I tried cutting it out last year, and I'm not sure it made much difference. I will eat some unpasteurised cheese, grassfed butter and greek yoghurt, maybe a little cream in my coffee. I do also eat some soy from time to time, in the form of miso, tofu or…

@madwells1 It definitely helps me to keep motivated by checking in with others. I had a super busy day yesterday, but really benefited from the extra energy eating primal gives me. I got woken up at 5am by my youngest, did some yoga, had lots of chores to do in town, so including the school run, walked 21,000 steps, quite…

I've updated my app, so we'll see if that works. I try not to ban any food in our house, but cook whole, unprocessed, so last night there were new potatoes on the side, for those 2ho wanted them. My 12yr old says she wants to reduce sugar, so I see that as a good thing. @SteamClutch I feel the same, I was starting to eat…
-
Not sure why I keep losing parts of my posts... I was saying that I am the only primal person in my house, but also the cook, so I often cook primal with some carbs on the side. Last night was steak burgers (again

@curltess033 The no sugar, seems to have worked well for you
-
Welcome, @Gritty_Gal. I think the whole point of primal is whole, unprocessed food and what works for you. There are paleo/primal bread recipes, but I've no idea what they're like.
-
@madwells1 hope you feel less cranky today. @wellnesschaser I love loads of roasted veg, if you have extra it's great on a salad too
-
@annk18 I made mine without noodles that time, but sometimes use a spiraliser to make courgetti (zoodles) or sweet potato noodles, as long as you watch the carbs. Just to prove we're all human, we had a very social day, yesterday and I slipped up a bit, but won't beat myself up about it. Lunch: mushroom soup, manchego…

@HestiaMoon1 I've been on here for years, too. I've come onto this forum, because I know I'm mostly likely to stick to it better with a bit of outside support. I try to IF 16/8 atm. @madwells1 Here's to fun and cool people!
