I started with a single event that started the train rolling. I went to a picnic with my family for Fathers day. Had a fine old time and ate until I couldn't stuff any more food in. that night I couldn't sleep my stomach was doing cartwheels. I had to call in sick to work the next day. I basically called in sick to work…

Yeah, the closer you get to your goal weight the harder it is to lose. try adding exercise if you are not already, that helped me a lot.

Went from 262 lbs. to 165 lbs. (97 lbs.). I ate between 1200 - 1500 calories a day it took about 15 months. I've mostly kept it off for 5 years. 165 lbs. was just impossible to maintain. I was up around 182 lbs earlier in the year, but quarantine has helped me get back under 170 which I think is more easily maintained.

1928 days for me. I missed 1 day (super bowl 5 years ago) or it would be like 2200.

App Mostly. Website is better for creating recipes. The app is better for entering items you eat regularly. It also lists items you frequently eat with that item. For instance If I enter Sirloin, it will recommend the sides I frequently have with my steak.

I always thought of weight loss as a temporary situation. I'd diet to lose weight then I could eat normally again. Not true. It is a lifetime commitment 1st to lose the weight then to maintain the weight loss.
-
once a day like clockwork sounds like the definition of regular. I think it depends on how much you eat. When I was heavy (260lbs) I'd go at least once or twice a day. Now that I've lost weight (175lbs) and eat considerably less each day, I go closer to once a day, though it is more like 5 out of seven days a week.

God I drink like 5-6 diet soda's a day, I should be stroking out any time now. I'm sure I'd be much better off if I still weighed 260 instead of 175. I hate BS clickbait like this.

Once I got closer to my goal weight I started focusing on a weekly deficit more than a daily deficit. It helps balance out the high days, especially around the holiday's. If I eat to much on Monday, I try to make up for it later in the week so my weekly average still good. Or if I know there is a party and I'm going to go…

Oh, but Mercury is so Yummy.

Who knew. I only eat lunch and dinner, pretty much my whole adult life. Occasionally a snack at night. I did not even know there was a term for that. Apparently I'm an intermittent faster. I ate on the same schedule when I was 90 lbs heavier too. Just a lot more per sitting. Technically I was still intermittent fasting, I…

I had to call in sick to work because I went to a party the previous day and I ate so much I was sick all night. I knew I had to change my eating habits and not just a temporary diet. Lifelong changes.

How about lady fingers? perhaps a scone? Kidding aside, nuts are a good snack (peanuts, walnuts or almonds).

Try to avoid situations where you would usually smoke. I was a pack a day smoker and I quit right before a vacation. I was so busy on vacation and so taken out of my daily routine that it really wasn't too bad. Ok, maybe the wife and I got into an argument or 2 on that vacation because I was cranky, but it's been 21 years…

For me, Five guys peanuts are like a race to see how many I can crack open and eat before the food is ready.

I lost a total of 95lbs, and it took a good 25-30 before I really felt I looked different. I knew my pants weren't tight anymore, but it's really hard to detect changes in ones self by just looking in the mirror. People will start to comment, before you really start to feel it. Keep at it, it is totally worth it.

I'm trying to figure out how to word this without sounding preachy. In order to lose weight and keep it off you need to change the way you eat. Even the term "diet" sounds temporary. One must change their eating habits for the rest of their life. You can't eat healthy for 6 months, lose weight and then start eating the way…

Definitely stick with it. 3 weeks is not a lot of time when you are so close to your goal weight. It is very hard to lose those last stubborn lbs. As somebody above said, water weight can easily mask a couple of lbs of weight loss.

I generally plan my daily intake around dinner. My wife was not on a diet, so we ate about the same dinner we always had. Once I know how many calories dinner will be, I can plan the rest of the day. I was very strict while I was actively losing weight, usually around 1500 calories a day. Eating a normalish dinner helped…

When I was losing, I ate between 1200 - 1500 calories a day. Once in a while I would hit the 1200, but I couldn't have done it every day. It was usually more like 1400 - 1500. I never ate exercise calories back though, not even half. Now that I'm in maintenance I do eat exercise calories back.

This! I put on 4 lbs overnight from overdoing on easter. Most will be gone in a couple of days.
-
I try to bank calories before the event and after if I need to. Then I can eat what I want (within reason) at the party.
-
I went to a party and ate so much I was sick for the next 24 hours (had to call in sick to work). The next day I couldn't really eat much. Once I felt better, I just kept eating less. After a week or 2 I started logging on MFP.

I lost 90+ lbs & 3 ring sizes (10.5 - 7.5)

I may surpass my goals once in a while, but I always try to log as best I can. Got to keep up my 1128 day streak.

I started buying new clothes once I lost 50 - 60 lbs. The mistake I made was I spent all this money on new clothes, then lost another 40 lbs, so I had to do it all over again. I really didn't think I could lose that much more weight. I should have bought cheap clothes @ Walmart to hold me over. Worst mistake was a new…

I wouldn't worry about it. When I was 260 (44" waist) I could still fit on the rides.

If it fits in your calories go for it. I have pizza all the time and I'm down 90+ lbs. I ate pizza while I lost, and I still eat it a couple of times a month while I'm in maintenance.
