HI! I am glad to be your friend. I am a grad student at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. My faith is the center of my life, even though I have thousand other things going on, or so it seems. I guess that is why I need my faith. I would be happy to be your friend.

Well I did not get my fitbit today. Radio Shack was out of the one I want. I was tempted to drive the distance for it, but I have an exam Thursday. Procrastinating at studying and felt I should not have any more excuses in the house. So I think it will be my reward after exam is done.
-
Please add me. I plan to buy a fitbit tomorrow. May not be able to get started until after midterm exam this week. But I need the motivation.

I took an online class through Community college. Good for the writing part, not so good for the math part. Interestingly enough, I guess on 75% of the math questions and did much better than anticipated. I took about 6 months to study and still felt totally unprepared. The vocab flash cards were most helpful for me. When…

Can't find the group, but would like to be part of it. Count me in if you can.

Thanks. Yep having a hard time being motivated these days.

Could I get the rest of the recipe, ie oven temp and baking time. May want to try them sometime in the future when I may have time to bake. Thanks

Karanmwk, I just want you to know I have been going through much the same thing. I am in graduate school, working full time, trying to help make sure my 91 year old mother has the care she needs. I thank God she is in a good assisted living facility, but she has soooo many health problems it is scary. I have had a terrible…

Hadn't thought of that one. Great idea!

Remember the need to care for yourself or you may not be able to care for those you love. It can be difficult, I know.

Unfortunately I have found snopes.com to be unreliable also. Not sure where they get their information from. I do know I feel better since stopping diet drinks.

Life time student? I am an RN working in case management. So congrats to all you nursing and social work students. Now in Grad school for a degree in Pastorial Studies. Possibly to be a Chaplain.

Thanks for the ideas, everyone. I will be trying the iced coffee cubes to make a protein drink.

Welcome and good luck. I understant the "I guess". I keep restarting on a regular basis. I just remind myself I am not giving up.

Good to see so many struggling with the same thing I am. The focus is always on the need to take time for ourselves. Problem is that between school, work, trying to keep up with schoolwork and housework I feel just about the only thing I do is spend time on myself. I realize it is not the same as trying to take care of…

Thanks, tpfoodie, for the great response. You sound very motivated. I realize that sometimes I don't get a lot of things done on my "to do" list by waste time doing nothing of importance.

Lunch with legumes are very filling and stay with you. Include another good source of protien, it should also help

Thanks for the recipes. These look good

I have the same difficulty and I think it is a matter of cultivating a new habit. It just takes practice and I am trying my best to practice.

I go to Sacred Heart Major Seminary for grad school. Love it. But I may be taking a semester off because of my health. Need to decide in the next week so I don't loose tuition money.

Herbal tea is my favorite. There are now all kinds of options

Next time bring snacks. I always do even when I visit my daughter. For right now, do whatever you can to get through the day. God Bless.

I am looking for someone to help motivate me!

I totally got it. I remember myself and most of my friends gaining weight during nursing school when I was in my late twenties and early thirties. I can trace most of the times I have gained back to a new job, school or other stressors in my life. Right now I am working full time, dealing with my ninety-one year old mother…

It is good to see other people in this position. I think I have been a student most of my adult life. I went to nursing school after my husband & I separated when I was 29 yo. Then finished by BSN. Now working on a Masters in Pastoral Studies. I don't anticipate I will be able to retire but I hope to work as a chaplain or…
