  • I've been doing keto diet since mid January. Lost 32lbs so far (most of which was in first month). Enjoying this way of eating.
  • I use caramel flavoured stevia, and 1/2 cup of blue diamond unsweetened almond milk. Only adds 20 cals to my coffee.
  • Kind of in a similar situation. Started off at same weight, but was stuck in 140's for months. I began running again, and always track all my calories. Was very discouraged to see minimal movement, but thankfully I just kept on going, because as of this morning, I am at 139. I figure weight comes off slower when you are…
  • I log in whatever my HR monitor says I burned. I have a big trampoline though, and do different workouts on it. I think if you are doing simple jumping up and down, it should be similar to jump rope...
  • I only calculate actual workouts. Walking to and from places are part of my daily activity and are things I would do regardless of whether I was working out or not. If you want to track those movements as well, make sure your activity level is set to "sedentary".
  • Hi Quantella, welcome to the group! I haven't done water aerobics, but have lost weight by portion control. Any physical activity is going to help out, as long as it gets your heart rate up. :) Good luck!
  • I wonder what people who follow the Dukan diet hope to achieve. Is it *just* rapid weight-loss, or rapid weight-loss that they would like to keep off permanently? I think restricting carbs and eating only certain foods works well for quick weight loss, but if one hopes to not gain it all back, then a healthier-eating route…
  • I am currently doing some sort of Couch to 5k. I would be interested in joining... though not sure how do we do it together?
  • I like perky or peppy songs when it comes to running. My current running list includes: Learning to Fly- Tom Petty I'm your Daddy - Weezer Raise your Glass - Pink We R Who we Are - Kesha Waking up in Vegas - Katy Perry Fireworks - Katy Perry Combat Baby - Metric Bigger Than Us - White Lies Jumping all Over the World -…
  • I have been using the miCoach app on my phone. I have done about 20 runs with it, and have seen much progress. I was barely able to run from one street light to the next, and now I can run for 30 mins straight. I want to enter a 5k, but don't want to until I can run it in under 30 mins (It took me 31:42 the last time I did…
  • I agree with what everyone has said. Watch portion sizes, and log in everything. A scale may just be what you need. I wouldn't have been able to do this without one. Watch your sodium as it causes water retention. Give your body some time to adjust to intaking more fibre and water. If you have just started working out, or…
  • I'm sure one will eventually lose weight if he/she does not eat at all. Think of the photos and commercials with people in impoverished countries-- we don't see any over-weight people in them. I'm sure no one wants to look skeletal with a swollen belly, yet people are purposely starving themselves to get that way. It's…
  • I'm no expert, but do you really need to be drinking that many shakes? Is there any particular reason why you are keeping your carb intake so low? Veggies are what helped me lose most of my weight, and you don't seem to be eating many of them. I also noticed that there are many frozen or prepared meals, which are most…
  • I just say, "I'm not feeling too hungry right now". Or "I already had lunch". If you are hungry, you can always grab some veggies or something healthy (but only a little) and then eat it really slow. No one will pay attention to *how much* you are eating.
  • I agree what everyone above has said. However, I understand your desire to want to lose as much as possible prior to your special day. I would advise that you exercise daily, and that you focus on eating veggies. Eat lean protein and fibre rich foods as well, but you will find yourself lose more quickly if you eat mostly…
  • I think its something that many people struggle with, no matter what stage they are at in their weight loss. If you avoid junk food completely, it is much easier to not eat it (which is what I did for the first 3 months). Now that I allow myself junk, I struggle with portions, and making myself not eat it often. If you…
  • What people posted above is true. Your weight will eventually come off. When I hit my plateau the first time, I had to increase my calories to get my metabolism to kick start again. I was hesitant at first too, but it worked-- my body probably entered starvation mode as I was eating way too little calories. Now that I have…
