You aren't a loser. Recovery includes failing to get better. You can do this!

Hi Jane. How are you doing? I'm sorry you are struggling. What resources have you used to get better? I recommend therapy and the book "8 Keys To Recovering From An Eating Disorder." You can do it! Don't let the critical voice in your head keep you from happiness.

Thank you! I may try and figure out how to start a group.

I would be so happy with a support group, but I can't seem to find one on here and am not sure how to make one. It'd just be nice to vent once in a while! It's been so long since I've struggled this much. Thank you, friends, for chiming in and empathising. I've faced a lot of change and stressors recently and I think this…

I usually plan for it by eating lower fat and carbs that day, and higher protein for the meals before the dinner/event/whatever. Then I eat and have fun, and (sometimes) just do my best to guestimate later. I know if I have a special event, most meals have more carbs and fat than I usually eat. So that helps me balance it…

That means so much to me. Thank you!

Thank you everyone for your comments and encouraging words. They mean more than you know! I've been doing these macros for about 6 months, now. Before that, I was on a higher cut with a different nutritionist, at 115c, 40f, and 130p, but was ravenous every day and woke up teary and just... I hated it. I couldn't do it…

Thank you! I took the slow route to losing weight, so I think my skin had time to mostly adjust. I was told that would be the best way to avoid loose skin, so that helped me take the slower course. I do have stretch marks, though, especially on my thighs and hips.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging comments! It's so insane to think I'm the one inspiring people when I've been on MFP since 2012 getting inspired by everyone else! I'm 29. At my heaviest, I was 23.

Holy crabcakes you looks fantastic! Great job!

I guess everybody's experience is different, but macros are what made me lose my weight and keep it off for a sustained period. Without them, I kept going up and down -- not in a huge exaggerated way, but I wasn't getting closer to a body I wanted. I had plateaued and sort of given up, and I felt weak at the gym. Macros…

I'm not sure if this would fit into your lifestyle, but I found that lifting weights gave me newer motivations. I wanted to be stronger, lift more, do more things at the gym. I didn't want to kill my workout by eating badly, and knew I would be stronger if I continued my diet. I also found a gym that was a bit competitive…

You should ask your doctor or a nutritionist what the best weight for you would be -- I feel like this would depend on more than your height (as a woman, my boobs play into my goal weight significantly, for example). I am 5'5" and my goal changes all the time. I'm at 135, and I think 130-135 is a good range for me. I…

I agree! I definitely keep an eye on my calories if I see them go into the red, but am honestly not even sure what my exact caloric goals on my MFP diary are. I usually hit around 1350-1400 calories each day, though, so I know I am in a deficit. I have, however, witnessed my partner eat a HUGE surplus of calories and not…

I love dark chocolate, and CarbZero makes my very favorite dark chocolate. It is macro-friendly! In agreement with a few posters here, it's potion control that is key. One sweet a few times a week won't hurt at all! Especially if you are within your caloric/macro goals and aren't eating an excessive amount of sugar. You…

What a fun story! Thanks for the photos! This year I've experienced acclimation sickness while hiking and it is not fun. So many rest stops. That view is very desolate and interesting. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Breakfast, because it is my most protein-dense meal. It helps me stay full and happy well into the afternoon! I eat a plate piled full of eggs and picante sauce, with a tortilla. I throw some sauerkraut on there too. Yumm.

If you read my whole note, my body responds to different macronutrient profiles, no matter my caloric intake, and my experience shows that losing weight without focusing on macros made me look unhealthy and now I have a better body composition. I did the caloric deficit and completely ignored macros, and I had negative and…

Hey guys! Sorry, it's been a while! The Sports Bra: It fits me better now that I've lost more weight, but it was a cheapo bra online. It's actually absolutely wonderful. I ordered a few of them! I can PM you the website if you want. And this totally worked! I couldn't stop pleatauing, and while my motivation and desire was…

Trial and error. I did the strict caloric deficit... I was hungry and lost a lot of muscle mass because I wasn't paying attention to the type of foods I was eating. I tried keto... gained weight. I tried a lot of different things and I wanted something that I understood from a scientific standpoint, and something that my…

In response to some of the snarky crap on here: I was at a strict caloric-focused diet for 12 weeks and didn't lose weight and was always hungry. Now I focus on macros and once my numbers were adjusted, I dropped weight quickly. I can easily see now how having lower fats vs proteins vs carbs etc affects HOW my body…

I liked being on keto but gained 10 pounds on it. I was in ketosis for three months, according to blood tests. Measure your food carefully. My doctor made me get off of keto for health reasons... it wasn’t for me, but it works for some people. A year later and I’m still in keto recovery mode, but my boyfriend stayed on it…

Yes! This is the only one I've found that does make me have the famed MonoBoob. Life is hard for big-breasted girls! Haha It's called the 3D Gather Stretch Push Up Padded Seamless Shakeproof Gym Running Yoga Bra For Women. Quite a name, right? Only $9 bucks.

Thanks guys! I'm still making some progress. Here's an update: I'm playing around with cutting carbs and sugars. I've been taking it slow, but I am at a point where I've effectively cut out all sugars and most carbs that don't come from straight fiber. Here's an update from me, two weeks ago, to now:

I see! Great info; thanks so much. I'll cut them out. And have to do some research on alternatives. Sigh!
