My starting weight is 176. My goal weight is 165. I've been at this MFP thing for a while. I know that my eating habits need to change in this 40 day challenge. I get plenty of exercise in doing martial arts four days a week. However, the challenges are just a fun way to break up the routine. I may try to stop eating carbs…

So far you are doing everything right...Now you've got to stretch out those calf muscles. Leg raises are key! As we age, the muscles get weaker, and they don't support our bones. When we build them up they act like cushions. I started seeing a foot doctor at age 21 for this same problem. I'm almost 40 now. Yoga and Pilates…

Check out this video from one of my other MFP's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c5FAm2RIJo In two years, he changed his body. I hope you find it helpful to your question.

Small weekly changes...I've tried spinning, Zumba, running, and there not for me. It took a while to find the perfect activity. When my son was younger (7), I wish that I joined the gym much earlier. He loved those ladies and other kids in the play area. I felt like I was pushing him off, but he actually loved having his…

If you haven't all ready, buy a good pair of sneakers! You'll need them for Disney anyway. Also, I have Insanity, but can't do the workout consistently because of all the jumping. I started Martial Arts training in January. I haven't lost a lot of weight, but I have lost a ton of inches. The biggest thing is I really look…

In my first 90 day challenge, I won $300.00. It's a bitter sweet story. I won because the other nine people stopped showing up. Then, I also did Dietbet with some family members online. I also won that challenge. Now I'm in the Hunger Games Challenge. Tips...Most people quit or get disinterested. I love my Martial Arts…

The sodium in my diet has definitely hit the scales this morning. I'm flushing it with water and a fresh fruit protein shake today. Seven hours later...the scale has gone down four pounds! I knew this would happen, but hey...I just wanted to share this with you. Salt in processed meats and ham can kick your scale up. I…

I think that it's awesome how your opening up your workout routine. If the instructor didn't care, they would have just let you struggle. Instead they gave you some pointers to make your workout better. My first kickboxing class was just the same. He had to correct every punch and kick at first. Two months later...the cute…

I like the charts and the numbers! Bottom line is that it motivates me throughout the day. My New Balance HRM just died, and now I have a fitbit with a warranty. MFP overestimates calories burned during the day. I know my HRM is at least closer to the truth.
-
WTG! It's sounds like your really committed to taking care of yourself!

Out of the last six days...I averaged 1752 calories per day. I've been at a plateau, so I just started to increase my calories. I also burned an average of 582 calories per day. Tomorrow is weigh in day...we'll see if it these changes work!
-
You can add me too! Losing the weight is important, but changing my habits is almost more important. I recently got a HRM to log how active I am in any given day. I also am working on figuring out all of my food triggers. Working out for me is the easy part.

Today I took your advice & had a chocolate protein shake after class. At 8:30, it's really to late to eat again. It felt like a late night snack too.

Just over 11,000 steps, including martial arts, light weight lifting, and house cleaning today. My tracker calculated 557 today!

I've got a Pilates machine. If you can lay down flat with your head raised a little, it's a great workout. I have issues from time to time with my feet & this machine really helps. Yoga is great too!
