Got back from walking the dogs this morning and saw my muddy sneakers sitting by the back door. (Not that it ever rains here anymore, but I managed to do my c25k walk/run last night during the EXACT time the nearby park runs the sprinkler system. I'm gifted.) My sneakers made my house look like someone active lives here.…

No one pointed out to me that if you walk to work, walk to the grocery store, walk to your appointments, walk to visit friends...eventually your geriatric 2001 Prius will be so lonely that the auxilliary battery will die and when you finally NEED the car, it will not start for you. :(

So happy for you! Your joy just comes bursting off the screen! Well done!

I dreamt the other night that I was in the Olympics. Sort of. I was in some kind of dance performance. I seemed to be a cross between a Minion and a Mr. Potato Head. (Somehow I feel this is not what the sports announcers are referring to when they wax poetic about "the Olympic dream".)

You look fantastic! Congratulations on your health and your success! Well done!

I think all success stories make me smile, but this one made me positively beam with joy! I'm so happy for you, and for your pup!

You look healthy and beautiful to me. You've done an amazing thing; be proud of yourself!

Love it! Thanks for sharing!

I hiked through Ihlara Valley in Turkey once, and surprised myself by crying at the end of the day when it was time to leave. (Yep, I was an adult.) It was beyond beautiful. I'd post photos, but I've never found any that do it justice.

Hoping to find the answer to this exact question! Incredibly contradictory reports on the effects of both soy and flaxseed for ER+/PR+ cancers.

Smoking and watching lots of tv are definitely big steps on the road to fitness and wellbeing…

Like many who have responded in this thread, I haven't completely eliminated anything at all. The biggest change is probably that I used to drink a ridiculous amount of juice, and now I drink mostly water. I actually eat more chocolate now than I used to! "Chocolove - Almonds and Sea Salt in Dark Chocolate (3.2oz bar), 1/3…

GENIUS! Why did I never think of this? I usually climb, or look both ways to make sure the coast is clear and then jump repeatedly like a trained monkey until I succeed at knocking the item to the edge or over it.

5'2.5" and happy to be maintaining at 123. I feel pretty comfortable within 5 pounds of that weight. If I'm over 128 I am conscious of the difference; if I'm under 118 people start asking if I'm unwell. This seems to be a good weight for me for now. If I ever get motivated enough to change my body composition, I would be…

Just watched the program you linked. It was interesting and informative, but WOW is that depressing. My metabolism will never revert back to the metabolism of someone who hasn't been overweight? I will need to eat significantly less and/or exercise significantly more than my imaginary twin who never gained the weight in…

I'm vegetarian and I shop at Trader Joe's a lot, so I should have a whole list of things to recommend, but the first thing that comes to mind is the Eggplant Hummus. Vegan, yummy, 35 calories in 2 tablespoons. Ingredients: Chickpeas, eggplant, sesame tahini, lemon juice, garlic, water, sea salt, pomegranate juice.

Informative, bizarre, and relentlessly mesmerizing thread. Thanks for sharing.

In response to Dynamitegal's comment: I do feel a little more physically vulnerable at my current weight. I am not quite 5'3" no matter what weight I am, but I felt more physically imposing when I was heavier. Of course the reality is that I'm healthier and more fit now, and thus better able to run away or defend myself…

I log mine mainly to note to myself that I took them. Kind of the same reason I hit the counter each time I drink water until I hit 8 cups each day, and then don't bother if I drink more after that. I take a flaxseed oil supplement, a multivitamin, and recently I started taking a calcium supplement on the days I don't…

These days I am disappointed when I have to take my car somewhere (for instance when I go to pick up a giant bag of dog food or kitty litter). I walk almost everywhere now, not only because I push myself to do it because it's good for me, but because I actually really enjoy it! I never would have predicted that a year ago.…

This made me laugh out loud. Literally. Wishing you luck on your quest to become superwoman!

All sound good! Veggie sloppy joes are always a good choice. Kids and adults, vegetarians and meat eaters -- everyone seems to like them!

I agree completely. Also, I expect that regardless of its accuracy, each gadget is probably fairly consistent/precise. I didn't link the article to knock the devices; I love my HRM.

Redbull. I was running late for work one morning and didn't have time for coffee. COFFEE IS A MAGICAL AND ESSENTIAL FOOD FOR FOR ME and nothing anybody says, no matter how well reasoned or supported, will change that  . A coworker gave me a redbull and I took a sip and (rudely, I'm afraid) ran to the sink and spat it…

105 minutes for me in those final three days. I walked 30 minutes or more every single day in July (and I'm continuing into August, since I enjoyed it). Many thanks for the idea and the motivation. :flowerforyou:

315 for me this week!
-
I can reply "LOL" quite literally! That never happens. :drinker:
-
Well done! Congratulations not only on the progress you've made physically, but on your ability to see past the scale! (Thanks for teaching me the word "hangry", by the way. )

I tracked sugar briefly and found that one medium Fuji apple and three steamed baby beets put me into the red for the day. I stopped tracking sugar.

255 for me. That's my lowest number yet, but I'm not disappointed. I continued to do what I set out to do (minimum 30 minutes every single day) and I continue to enjoy it! I do hope to get some longer walks in during the final week, though.
