Welcome to Abel Runner 5. Stay safe, and don't get too friendly with the Zoms! :))
-
Same with my sister and I...she is ahead of me on the 5K training. So, we try to not run the same route at the park. So far, so good :)

Welcome runner 5!

Maybe you can hold it as you run? Not sure, someone said it messed up GPS reading, but that won't apply in this case. I'm not sure how the accelerometer will read it though. Just a thought.

When on the treadmill, it will have to use the accelerometer since gps would show you standing still. For that to work though it has to be on your body I think, so it can measure your steps.

Same here, the story is the carrot that drags me back...and I need that motivation!

I'm still plugging away, but had to redo the first 2 weeks, as I didn't complete well. Currently on week 3...hoping I survive it (I run in TX outdoors in the evening...and it is HOT).

Love it! :flowerforyou:

Just got the book, and decided to try the program with my sister. Since the gyms near us are expensive and have bad reviews (sigh) I picked up dumbbells and chin up bar at sports store. Now if I can just actually do the excercises lol. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? :)

Way to go!

I never have liked to run, but am doing it now using Zombie Run app. It is an interesting story with you as a runner after the Zombie Apocalypse. Might not be your cup of tea, but at least keeps me from dreading the routine so :-). But it might not help in your case, more aimed at 5K runners I think...

Make sure you keep up your minerals (magnesium, potassium, calcium to name a few), drink lots, and maybe take a baby aspirin afterwards if you tend toward inflamation issues. Good luck!

Sounds cool...my sister and I have talked about signing up to "play" zombies in the fall for one...we will see :).
-
I may post a copy of this on my office wall...need all the motivation I can get! :)

Hi, also just starting out (and I hear the shin splits, I had ankle issues last time I tried running :grumble: ). Welcome Runner 5 to the Zombie Apocalypse
-
Well, I'll give you major kudos. I'm out of shape, and my muscle type is mostly sprint, lift weights, etc. I'm redoing week 1 (getting my joints used to this) and have yet to be able to run the free run! Still, I'm really going to try to run part of it next run!!! :) So, KUDOS!!!
-
Well, you are giving me hope. So far (I'm at the beginning of the Z5K, just finished week 1, day1) and I think my walking is faster than my running. So, hoping I get a little faster :). Also, glad to know I'm not the only one trying this app, some of my friends think I'm nuts right now, but I just think I'm lapping them as…

I did mission 1 of the regular zombie app, and although I finished, it took it out of me...soo... 5k training time!
