How do you handle social events, especially at night. Do you switch your meal time?

Depending on your weight, the first week will possibly yield 5 lbs or more (mostly water) , but after that it slows down. My experience is that week 2 and after, it goes down to 1-2 lbs per week.

I do low carb because it works best for me. I still watch calories, but find this way of eating keeps me full longer. For some reason, I do lose more on low carb. I stayed under the 20 carbs per day and also watched calories (1000-1200). Lost most in the first few months. It slowed after that, but I found if I ate more calories then lowered them, it would trigger a loss.

I would be determined to lose weight and be healthy for myself first. I would find it difficult to be with someone who only "loved" me when I looked a certain way. That's not love.

I only do it with a special occasion (Thanksgiving meal, birthday dinner, etc). I try to eat well the rest of the day and go right back on plan. I find that if you are creative with your meals, changing it up, it works better. I go on the low carb sites and get ideas.

Yes, 26 lbs since October. I still watch calories, but on the LCHF I am always full with the same amount of calories. It works for me. I stay under 20 net carbs per day. As others have said, there is a LCHF group which always has great tips.

The first few months, I gave up wine (which I used to drink daily). I would drink rum or whiskey with diet soda instead on weekends only. The last few weeks I have had wine. I found the the sugar free ketchup is good (more spicy than sweet). It is very thin and runny though.

The thought of oil or butter in my coffee makes me cringe. I read that so many people drink this. What does it taste like? Is it oily?

Gained 5 lbs last week, almost gone today (.2 away)

I went back to check my sodium levels over the last 30 days and was really surprised at how low my levels were. Granted, I do salt my meals pretty liberally, but I will definitely need to increase. The cramps are in my calf and they go away fairly quickly, but those 3 minutes seem like an eternity!

I would try to just go off the days that something is going on. For me, that was what has derailed me ("I'll start again after New Years", etc) in the past. I never get back on! I try to keep alcohol for weekends but I will drink whiskey or rum with diet soda. No carbs. Miss wine sometimes!

I do the low carb while still watching calories. I find that those food keep me satisfied longer. Never hungry.

I found them to be more filling than the Lean Cuisine and WW. They are a little higher in calories than the others.
