  • A hot pastrami sandwich with lots of thousand island dressing
  • I lost the first 30 pounds doing straight cardio, but hit a wall 7 or 8 months in. A year later I'm finally discovering the benefits of weight lifting in addition to cardio, and adding some extra calories. It was hard for me because lifting weights didn't equal any extra calories, so I wasn't motivated. Now, I allow myself…
  • Bumping too, same height and goal weight. Started at 180, been hovering at 150 for a year.
  • I like EatingWell.com and SkinnyTaste.com
  • Asking myself "is that gonna be enough food?" I've been eating 1200-1500 cals daily for nearly a year and half, and I haven't starved one day, but everytime I pack my breakfast and lunch, or measure out my dinner, I ALWAYS ask, "Is that gonna be enough food?" I've started answering myself, "Yes Jodi, you're not going to…
  • I'm in your boat. Tiny Asian frame means a very tiny target weight. I started at 180 and have lost 30 pounds so far. My tip for rice is Uncle Ben's microwavable pouch of Jasmine and Basmati rice. It's a little more costly and the texture is different than cooking rice in a rice cooker, but it's instant portion control.…
  • Invest in a window unit. People sell them all the time on Craig's list, or even a small one brand new will be less than $100. Put it in a room with a TV and DVD player, rent/borrow some work out DVD's. And if possible, sleep in that room too, cuz going through this summer without A/C is gonna be awful!
  • If I were eating a salad with colby jack cheese, avocado, and shrimp, I'd think taco salad. Add a couple tbls of salsa. Yum!
  • Slow Poke Rodriguez is my fave Looney Tunes character. I love his voice and accent, and how he's always hungry and Speedy is always having to save him from Sylvester. Marvin is definately a close runner up though.
  • Interesting. I always log in what the Wii says I burned, but I have always wondered how MFP logs it. Glad you asked.
  • Winnie the Pooh. He annoys me. The whole Pooh cast annoys me.
  • I too went shopping at the thrift store today for the first time. Agreed, it was a fun and inexpensive way to bridge over your wardrobe as you're shrinking. I also say donate, or sell to a consignment shop. Keeping those clothes is a subconscious way of telling yourself you might fail. No room for that kind of mentality in…
  • I use the laughing cow cheese as a sandwhich spread instead of mayo. Yummy! Good suggestion though, I'll give it a try.
  • Never seen the show but I only recently realized how often I think of food during the day. I'll be sitting at my desk and my mind will wander to the weekend... seeing friends.. "going out to eat? Where are we going? We haven't had Mexican in awhile! What would I order if we went to Mexican? Carnitas? Maybe I'll try…
  • Pho is great, but watch the rice noodles! If you make it at home, add some shredded napa cabbage to take the place of about half the noodles. Yam noodles have the texture of slightly overcooked rice noodles for little to no calories, but the price is crazy high. I tried all sorts of substitutes for white rice (brown rice,…
  • My faves are the stuffed shells and the Tamale Verde. Super satisfying dinners! Oh, the cheese lasagne is good too. I'm not sure I've had an Amy's meal I didn't like. I usually keep a couple Amy's burritos in the freezer for a quick lunch or dinner.
  • Mikato's ginger salad dressing tastes very much like the ginger dressing from the Japanese steakhouse. Low in calories and high in fiber. Any of the Trader Joe's dressings, found in the produce section in the cooler. Spicy Asian Peanut, Cranberry Walnut, Champagne Pear Gorganzola... all 70 cals for 2 tbls.
  • Luna bars are my fave, and I've tried most. Not too sweet, great texture, and less calories than most of the others. Lemon Zest, Nutz Over Chocolate, and Chocolate Brownie are my favorite flavors.
  • Kashi Go Lean Protein bars have the same number of calories or a little less, equal fiber, and I think the same or a little more protein. Not quite as sweet, but still pretty tasty.
  • It took me a long time to find, not only the right foods, but the right timing to make sure I didn't feel hungry all day. I tried eating small snacks throughout the day, believing it would keep my blood sugar stable and not trigger a hunger response. Yeah, that didn't work so well for me. Since I love eating a big dinner,…
  • Tuna or chicken salad are good.
  • I loved Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity. Maybe I'll give Asian horror flicks another go-round and watch Noroi.
  • The scene from House on Haunted Hill was with Bridgette (I think that's her name) Sampras, and she had a digital camera and was filming for her TV show. Then she saw the doctor through her screen of the camera. Then she turns around and sees that thing standing in the corner, then the film speeds up and the thing is all up…
  • I loved The Grudge so much that I started getting into some of the Japanese horror flicks. Some of them were just plain weird, and LONG! So I gave up. I've been a horror movie nut since I was a kid. I love The Exorcist, but as a kid I only saw one version, and didn't know about the staircase scene. When I lost the VHS and…
  • I, too, am quite relieved to see this topic being explored so openly. I actually bought a few books on binge eating, but I have them hidden away so my boyfriend doesn't see them. Although I don't doubt he has a clue. He has seen me in one of my binges. It always made me cringe when people would say, "Wow! You must have…
  • If there is one type of shoe I will splurge on, it's my running shoes. I hate to say it, but if I spend $30-$50 on a pair of sneakers, I get blisters, knee pain, ect. But those $80+ shoes have that great arch support and gel technology. I also compare shoes by weight, the lighter the shoe, the more comforable it tends to…
