  • I'm sad that no one answered your question. I have had similar symptoms to yours recently and have gone in for tests at my clinic and have had no lucking finding out what's wrong :( I hope you are feeling better!
  • I totally agree with this! Other than my soda habit, I really didn't eat terribly, nor did I regularly consume unreasonably large portions at any point in my life. However, I was very ignorant to what was in the food I was eating, which I perceived to not be particularly unhealthy (like you said with the cheese when…
  • My biggest "bad" choice before I started eating better was that I would drink at least one 20oz bottle of regular soda every day. Honorable mention: during my freshman year in college my roommate and I would eat a pint of Ben & Jerry's Half Baked ice cream several times per week. :P
  • Thanks for your advice/information everyone! :)
  • Agreed, I am working on cutting back on my sugar intake to hopefully curb my cravings for sweets so they are less frequent. Did you feel like the recipes with stevia were close in taste to something with sugar in it?
  • Thanks for the info! I looks like I will have to do my research if I actually decide to buy some!
  • I love brown sugar on oatmeal too! Yum! A little goes a long way I think, so it's definitely not a bad "splurge"
  • This is the same thing that happens to me when I eat/drink things with sucralose.
  • I agree, they are expensive, but they are "better" than most of the protein bars on the market. I have tried several of the flavors, but many of them are sweetened with sucralose, which I try to avoid for the most part. They do have some from their "natural" line that are sweetened with stevia and sugar alcohols instead of…
  • Thank you! I will do some more research. I was thinking the typical bulk followed by a cut would be the only option to get where I need to be, and it may be, but it's a great idea to try other alternatives that may have worked for others to see where they get me. Also, I think it's easy to forget that it takes LOTS of time…
  • Thank you for that clarification. I definitely misunderstood the concept of the macros being a minimum. I was wondering how people were able to make it work without ever going over any of their macros. I definitely do not think that IIFYM is a free for all, but it seems like some people who claim to follow it do, and often…
  • Thank you ! I love the idea of prepping a bunch of chicken during the weekend. I try to eat a lot of chicken since it's exactly what I am looking for (high protein, low fat) but I often run out of time to thaw, prepare, cook, etc.) I could definitely bring that to work to throw in a salad, wrap, etc. Just curious, do you…
  • Thank you
  • I agree that it has something to do with the "time of year". Ever since Thanksgiving ( I may have binged on the desserts a bit too much...) I've been craving sweets (especially baked goods) so badly. It's awful! I've been trying so hard to not give in to my cravings but its not easy. Especially because at the gymnastics…
  • Great advice on the water! In my opinion its good no matter what your eating to make sure you drink a good amount of water with it to help you realize when you're really full :)
  • Thanks for your input, I don't think you were rude at all :) I didn't think much about the cost and regular use of these bars, and you are so right, they really do add up. When I purchased my first couple, I honestly didn't even pay attention to the cost because I was in a rush. As for my reason for eating them: I normally…
  • Thanks for all your advice guys! You all rock! Have an awesome weekend :)
  • Thanks so much everyone for your input! I finally went out to my local nutrition store and picked a couple up. I tried the chocolate chip cookie dough today (heated up in the microwave as many of you suggested) and loved it! It really did taste just like a fresh out of the oven cookie. YUMMMM!!! I was a little disappointed…
  • Yep, that's kind of where I am at. My BF% is getting very close to what I would consider "ideal" for myself but these darn calves are stubborn and won't change. I'll keep trying....thanks for responding & good luck to you :)
  • Thanks guys. I have definitely heard that you can't "spot reduce" fat, I just didn't want to believe it :( Thanks for the reality check, I needed it! I was just kind of hoping that there was some type of exercise combination that worked for others with my problem as I have been struggling with lowering my body fat any…
  • Awesome! Thanks so much for the information! I do eat a lot of fish, yogurt, fruit, vegetables and sweet potatoes so maybe I am eating more than i think :)
  • That happens to me a lot as well. I used to do all sorts of random things when I would exercise but I started alternating strength training days with cardio and/or rest days for the same reason. I like to go for long walks on my "rest" days. If you walk somewhere where there are lots of hills or an a trail its a great…
  • Thanks for the info! It brought me back to my days of anatomy & physiology class my freshman year of college...I know I should've paid better attention ;) Do you have any tips on how to up your potassium intake? I have a hard time with that one as I am not sure what foods (or supplements?) to consume...
  • I totally agree. I try to bring leftover/home cooked food for lunch as often as possible but sometimes I'm so busy I just don't have the time for that :( I'm glad I am not alone, however I hope you are having more luck keeping your sodium levels down! :)
  • That's a good point about the "don't worry about it" thing. If you don't mind me asking, how do you keep your potassium intake so high? I struggle with keeping 3000mg per day.
  • I am a former gymnast and a current gymnastics coach who is embarrassingly "not flexible" anymore. Why? Because I stopped stretching. I stress the importance of stretching nearly every day to my gymnasts but half the time I don't even stretch after a work out (by that point I just want to hop in a cold shower and eat lol).…
  • Thanks so much for the advice guys! I may try to up my sodium intake to 2,000 max instead of the 1,500 looking into it again it seems that strict of a diet is more recommended for those who have preexisting health conditions which I luckily do not have. I am always going over since I've changed that goal anyways. I…
  • Chiobani, Yoplait and Oikos ( I think this brand is made by Dannon) all make pretty good Greek yogurt. I think the Yoplait is the best, because I also have a bit of an issue with the texture of Greek yogurt as well and this one is most similar to a traditional yogurt texture. I do believe they are all fat free or 2% fat…
  • I'm pretty sure I have seen them at Target by the Cliff Bars/ protein supplements and such. I also typed "where to buy Larabars" into google and they were shown for sale at Walgreens.com so maybe they will have them there as well. I have also seen them for certain at Whole Foods.
