I have found myself in a very similar situation this year as well. I was doing very well to start off the year, getting down to my lowest weight ever, then after taking a trip where I didn't restrict my eating it all seemed to spiral downwards. I've gaied about 20 lbs since March and I have been feeling very depressed and…

Check out this link if you want a "pulled chicken" type recipe. I don't have a pressure cooker so I used the stock pot method to cook it. http://www.wholelifeeating.com/2012/05/pulled-chicken-and-wilted-chard/ Theres also this link for a slow cooker chicken. Im on the Whole30 right now so these are both Whole30 compliant…

If you're "accurately" measuring your calorie burn using a heart rate monitor I would say Yes eat them all. If you're estimating your calorie burn using the MFP pre-set exercises or gym machines, I'd say eat 1/2 and see how you feel. Eating exercise calories keeps your metabolism up! among other benefits :)

Mmm bacon wrapped scallops! Or shrimp!

68 cals under your BMR is not a huge deal, so I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to eat at BMR, your weight loss would be only slightly slower than eating at 20% less than TDEE. Just remember to adjust your TDEE when you start your active life to make sure you're fuelling your body :)

That's an interesting idea on getting a nutrition book, I'll have to look around and find something not too boring. Thanks for all your input, I really appreciate it!

Grilled protein, stay away from creamy sauces and white rice

yustick: Maybe try replacing the Clif bars with something less processed? Or make your own protein bars? I second the great water consumption!

Hey Ivy, remember that it takes 3500 calories for your body to create 1 lb of fat. Adding an additional 300-400 cals a day will not result in a huge 'balloon-like' weight gain. While your metabolism beings to rebound from the state that it is in from a long-term deprivation, it will store calories as fat as a fail-safe for…

I haven't used the product personally, but I've read that the protein is soy-based or contains soy, so if your body reacts negatively to soy then I wouldn't recommend those specific meal replacement shakes. Also, remember that meal replacements are usually not meant for long term use, so for successful maintentance of…

Unfortunately there isn't really a way to convert between the two because different foods have different densities, so 2 cups of pasta will weigh less than 2 cups of chicken. The densities of different foods may be listed somewhere, but unless you have a food scale, I would stick to quantities that can be measured with…

Its a low calorie alternative to dairy?

Hey Katie, I think where you want to take your measurements depends on where you want to see changes in your body. I personally don't care about my bustline and whether it gets smaller or stays the same, but I do measure my waist, hips, thighs and upper arms because those are the places on my body I am looking to lose…

Thanks for clarifying! I'm attempting it in September and Im glad to know I can take a rest day if I need it

Welcome! BC has the mildest climate in Canada, and if you're moving to the southern parts of B.C. You shouldn't have many issues with working out outside all year long. If you can stand a little rain, there isn't much in the way of weather that keeps me in the gym. Just invest in a good quality rain shell for staying dry…

Your BMR does go up around when its around that time of the month (usually a couple days before your period starts to mid cycle), somewhere between 5-15%, but if you're hungry, you should eat! Even if its only a 150-200 calories more in a day. Your body definitely knows when it needs some extra fuel, so you should listen.…

On the web, it's under settings > Edit diet/fitness profile Then when you go to your home or your food tracker it will show you a daily calorie goal If you're on a phone app I can't remember the exact way to get to there but it's similar, somewhere in the settings menu

Are you using the MFP caloric limit calculator settings? Or are you trying to calculate it on your own? On MFP, they use your BMR, which is the calories burned by metabolic processes (breathing, digesting, etc) and multiply it by a factor for how active your daily life is (sedentary, lightly active, etc.) to estimate what…
