  • Seriously, it would be great if just for one day - ONE. DAY. - the sync would work as promoted.
  • My unpopular opinions: 1. Your macros, etc. really don't matter if you don't get CICO right first. Getting the macros right may *help* you get to CICO - but it's the deficit that is most important (for probably 95% of us). 2. There is no such thing as healthy/unhealthy food. Some foods may be more nutritious than others,…
  • I love Jenny Hadfield's plans. Finished a marathon in march using her run/walk program and felt FANTASTIC afterwards. And honestly - it wasn't that much slower than I'm going now to do a half in September (all running). I also like podrunner, both for keeping me on pace, as well as a lot of the interval workouts that they…
  • cleaned out the horse barn with a wheel barrow since the tractor declined to start :). Better workout than the gym for sure, pushing the loaded barrow through the snow!
  • Getting there! 1/2 3.58 miles outside 1/3 12.42 miles with ALL THE WEATHER (seriously: snow, rain, sleet, wind, sun on one run!) 1/5 5.59 miles, beautiful mornin 1/9 6.05 miles COLD 1/10 3.53 miles COLD and slooooowwwww 1/11 6.67 miles, beautiful day running with my sweetie 1/14 5.78 miles on the treadmill 1/15 5.74 miles…
  • I'm in! Trying for my first marathon at the end of March, hoping this will help keep me honest. Trying for 100 miles this month.
  • My favorite trick is walking while you are on the phone. If i'm in the office, i'll take calls on my cell phone and do laps around the building while I talk. At home, I do laps around the house :). Definitely starts to add up!
  • Lots of good advice - only thing I would add is be upfront with your budget when they are working with you, it's a totally reasonable budget for a just-starting-out runner! That way they won't show you things that are way out of your range, and they have the benefit of developing a longer-term relationship with you if you…
  • The only downside that I've found for keeping wine in my diet is that it sometimes leads me to make bad food decisions and blow my calories for the day. But I'd be lying if I told you that I didn't throw in an extra run sometimes to make sure I could have a glass or two!
  • definitely frozen berries (or fresh, this time of year), or other fruit, and a little honey or brown sugar makes it a little less tart. After only eating plain for so long, I have a really hard time eating regular flavored yogurt. I also use plain, non-fat yogurt all the time in cooking, as a replacement for…
  • peppermint tea got me through my coffee & diet coke addiction ....
  • I have tips for both! for the mp3 downloads - go look for podrunner. He does some great mixes that vary in terms of beats per minute - so you can find one that lets you run at a pace that's comfortable for you (or just a little bit faster). In terms of starting to jog, I'm a huge fan of the couch to 5k series, if you can…
