Hi, I have had Type 1 diabetes for the last 15 years or so. Adding you all :)

My problem is that after I run I do not feel like snacking...that being said if I have the munchies really bad I go for a run so I don't over indulge.
-
I agree with what others have said, it was not about being skinny but healthy and active. Being able to go jogging and walking without being in pain is incredible, I still cant get over the difference in how I feel.

Amazing story...you should be so proud of yourself for not giving up on the face of such a huge challenge! Thanks for sharing your story.
-
I got rid of mine...it felt great!
-
That is awesome, thanks for sharing your success.

I joined curves a few years ago and really liked it. I lost weight, don't remember how much but I think I would have lost more if I was tracking calories. It is pricey and I work out at home now as we got an inexpensive treadmill and a weight bench and some weights so no monthly fees but it was a good workout and I liked…

This is hard. I have struggled myself for years. I have found something that helps me is to chew gum if I want to eat out of boredom or emotional issues. I also second having healthy snacks and keeping treats out of the house.
-
You have done incredible. You will definitely reach your goal of being under 200. Congratulations on your one year anniversary!

THis is awesome, I love pizza...my NSV is I can't decide what to wear today. I have been buying clothes from Goodwill and have found some awesome, cute clothes for cheap and. Now I have too many choices.

One of the biggest changes in my life is I love exercise now. I am learning to run and can go for 30 minutes without stopping to walk! The second exciting thing that happened for me was to reach my goal of being able to buy normal sized clothing. Who knew shopping could be so fun. I have always wanted to be normal sized so…

I have been gearing about compression leggings for some time. I am definitely going to give these a try as well. I have taken a break from running for now but am continuing to walk. And going to continue with the strength training.
-
Thanks for the advice, I am going to try taking a break and just walk but what is foam rolling?
-
Frankly I have never tried weight watchers but it is expensive and MFP is free so an easy choice for me :)
-
Way to go! You look amazing and found a what works for you! That's the way to do it!
-
Congratulations, that is amazing and so much more important that the scale loss. Way to go! My big gain this year was strengthening by back so I can now walk much longer distances...Happy new year!
-
Congratulations, I haven't worn mine for a while now either but am waiting g a bit longer to resize just to be sure. You are doing great.

What keeps me going is trying to be healthy. As a type 1 diabetic it is so important that I eat healthy and never look back. Financially we cannot afford for me to develop complications and not be able to work. On the days that are hard for me I just remember that. I have set a minimum goal to do 30 minutes of cardio a day…
-
I did the same thing...went for a 45 minute run pm my treadmill....it is a much more effective way to manage stress for me.

M This!

Yes it was...my year started off with no particular desire to change but changed on March 15 when my sister came over to talk to me about Skinny Fibre, a diet pill sold in the US. I try to be supportive so I said I would give it a try. Well I tried it for a month and lost 5 pounds. That turned out to be the kick start I…
