Wow! It looks like the difference between 35 and 25 years old. Way to turn back the clock, Baby!!!! Woohoo for you!

I know exactly what you mean. I get made fun of all the time by friends and family members about my choice to turn down a yummy treat or have to go to bed early so I can get up at 5 to exercise. You know what I finally realized? That's their problem. People don't want you to succeed because it makes them feel like…

Yay for you!! Keep it up.

I agree. Very impressive!!! I love the title reference too. I didn't know where it came from, though. I'm sure many on MFP can relate.
-
Yay for You!!! Congratulations. Awesome work.

Done! I love her blog too. She's my new hero.

I know exactly what you mean. It's like when you have a hobby and that's all you want to talk about - even if the people around you aren't interested. When you see success, you want to shout it from the rooftops. But, yeah most people don't care to hear about it because it tells them that it is, in fact possible to be fit…

I would like some advice, too! I've tried every way around getting one because they are so expensive. The ones on the cardio machines are unreliable and the one I downloaded on my Android doesn't work either. And it's a pain to keep stopping and taking my pulse to get an average. So, please any advice....

I agree. However, I've been struggling with the same problem. It's like I've become addicted to watching the scale. I got down to my target weight, but my trainer says my body fat is still too high. So, I've had to increase my intake in order to build muscle. She's ban me from the gym scale. It has been a struggle, but I…

I'm so happy for you. Congratulations on finding a supportive woman. It's great that she already uses MFP so she can help you stay motivated. It's so easy to get laxed when you are satisfied in your relationship and no longer "looking". So - keep it up!! You look great, BTW.
-
Yes! I am so happy to see everyone in agreement that starving for the rest of the day will only make matters worse. I agree - just lower your intake for the rest of the day, then start again tomorrow. This is a learning process. Don't let one setback discourage you. Good Luck!
-
Wow! that was so amazing. I'm at work, but I couldn't stop watching it. I don't know how he pulled it off. But, she must be pretty special for him to go to that much trouble.

I was doing fine until last night when we hosted a commuity pot-luck at our house. Someone brought key lime pie. It was down hill from there. Once I had my first taste, I couldn't stop. I did limit it to a small piece. But then I had to have a piece of pecan pie (a small one again, but definitely blowing it). Of course,…

Thanks for all the advice. Good point about giving myself 48 hours to recover. And, I do eat a lot of carbs...

I got to thinking today that maybe I'm talking about my calorie intake, excercise and weight loss a little too much. My husband gave me this look over the dinner table tonight like, "Really, are you seriously telling me about how many calories you ate today and planning to eat tomorrow?" K Point taken. I'll shut up now and…

Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki salad with green pepper, pickles, tomatoes and sweet onion dressing. YUM!

Know what? I changed my mind. I'm in for the challenge. Yesterday after I wrote about how I haven't been eating as many sweets since I gave them up for Lent, I don't crave them as much. Well, I had to make some dessert for an employee lunch yesterday, so of course I "had to" test the cupcakes out. Later last night I was…

Wow! and look at those biceps. Good for you!!

Thanks for the comment, CJ. Good luck on your quest to lose more. It's so great to read about all the success stories on MFP. This site helps, but it comes down to your willingness to stick with your own program. I had to laugh the other day because someone who started using a powder that you sprinkle on your food to lose…

I just gave up sweets for 40 days for Lent. And, surprisingly, I'm not craving them like I used to now. Moral of the story: if you can stick with it, you will probably stop wanting them for good. I'm allowing myself just a bit now and then, but nothing like I used to.

Absolutely! My husband and I took a vacation to see his cousin in Florida. My cousin and his girlfriend came along. I could definitely see the eye-ball rolls every time I pulled out my phone to log my calories or to see how many calories a certain food would cost. But, you know what? I don't care. I'm the one enjoying the…

You have to consume the entire 1200 calories. I was having the same problem. Exercising and eatng way below 1200 was not working and I was getting so frustrated. I was about ready to quit. My trainer chided me for not eating enough calories. When I started staying around 1200, I lost about 3 more pounds. Now, I'm having…

I agree. I have had the same problem. Bananas, nuts, fruit smoothies are good. So is a good protein supplment. The protein will help with your workouts, too.

Welcome to myfitnesspal. I've been doing this off-and-on for about 2 years and about 3 months consistently right now. I only needed to lose a few pounds like you, but logging my calories makes it so much easier to stay on track. I've lost 6 pounds so far. This has been the most consistently I've used it, but also the most…

My family and I went to Disney World at Christmas time, about 12 years ago when our daughter was 10. We took my mom along, which could have been a disaster. We all had the most amazing time. I just kept saying the whole time, "This really is the happiest place on earth". I can't say enough about how we were treated, the…

Thanks for your report. It gives me a real "shot in the arm." I was just blogging a whiny story about how I my weight keeps fluctuating without reason. However, if I look back to where I was a few months ago, I can realize that I have made tremedous strides. I'm happy for you that you had your epiphany!

I'm sorry that your boyfriend was insenstive to you. My first reaction would be to get mad. However, I know that it won't help. You (and I) have to look inside (and to God if you are so inclined) for comfort. It doesn't matter what someone thinks of you. You have to see yourself as the wonderful person you were meant to…

Wowwwww! Thanks for the "shot in the arm"! Congratulations.

I love this question because it's the same conversation I have with myself every morning when I'm trying to get motivated to put everything I have into my exercise routine. Thing is, I'm focusing on being more modest and sprititual these days, so my motivation to look good in a bikini or low rise jeans shouldn't be my main…
