I meal prep. So I always have baked chicken breast or thigh, mashed sweet potatoes or baked potatoes and roasted vegetables in the fridge. Lunch and dinner are a breeze now!

I second the soda steam. I now drink my water sparkling with no flavour, I just love the fizz! My water intake has increased as a result.

When I first started running I didn't follow a program. I ran until winded and the walked to until I caught my breathe. I ran my first 5km race and then quit because I hated it. My son started playing travel ball and it was a lot easier to take my running shoes than my bike....so I started again. That was 5 years ago I…

What a beautiful picture of two beautiful animals!!!!!! <3

Use a food scale for sure!!! You could be eating more than you think. Maybe if you opened your diary so we can see what a typical day is like.

The 30 minutes you read about are just for heart health. It has nothing to do with losing weight. It could simply be a 30 minute walk, just elevate your heart a little. If need be it can be broken into 2 - 15 minutes or even 3 - 10 minutes. Seeing that you are doing a HIIT workout, just walk on your off days -- active…

When I don't food prep, I just cook extra food at dinner for the next days lunch.

If you aren't weighing everything you put in your mouth you likely aren't eating as little as you think. Buy a food scale...it's eye opening!!

I too give blood regularly. I always do a big workout prior to donating. I then take it easy for the rest of the day. Proper hydration and nutrition is extremely important before and after. My run the next day is a short easy run, I am not out to break any records!! Thanks for donating!!!

Welcome to the world of running!!! :) A lot of people use the program C25k ( Couch to 5k). I personally have never used it. I agree with janejellyroll three days a week as a beginner is great. The general rule of thumb is do not add any speed or distance over 10% per week. Take your time and enjoy the fact that you can…

Of course you can....just make them fit in your calories.

I don't know about any hype. Personally I use it every day as I typically struggle to get my protein in. I make it a bit thicker with some yogurt and make it like a milkshake.
-
I have been stretching several times a day. It may not be hourly, but a lot more than I usually do!! :)
-
Update... I ran in my old shoes. Same thing happened....awful charlie horse. Only I was able to stretch it and massage it out once and it didn't come back. I will try again.
-
I've had mine for a little better than a year. My only weight gain has been when I am not diligent with my diary!
-
I will try a different running professional for my next shoe fitting. I have always had good luck with New Balance. I didn't even know that Saucony had a wide shoe.
-
Wow you guys are great and I love all the feedback. I think I still have my old shoes. I'll take a look when I get home. Reading what you all have to say I am thinking that it could very well be the shoes. I did have them fitted by a professional at a running store. I think I did better selecting shoes on my own...LOL!! If…

I changed my shoes because it was time to replace my old ones. I had a pair of New Balance that I really liked, however, they discontinued them and I have been struggling to find a pair that I really like again so I was recommended Brooks. I have limited choices as I have a wide foot. I am thinking that I need to go back…

Charlie horse I mean shin splints, at least from what I have read that is what it feels like. I took quite a bit of time off after my marathon. Thanks for the responses.

What are you talking aboot...I ride my Moose to work :D I wonder what year this workout was created. I am not knocking it all, but in my mind Canadian Air Force should be fit and this seems to be a beginner workout. I would enter them as Calisthenics! Great place to start out!! Oh and of course Welcome!!!

I am soooo trying boiled potatoes. I can't stomach the gels!!!
-
Mine is low 50's. I feel it is very accurate as I check it manually sometimes and compare.

First of all Congratulations and have fun!!! I second don't eat anything new!!! Just eat whatever you did the night before a long run during training. The morning of eat whatever you did before your long run. I typically have toast with butter and honey before my run. You likely will have trained with some type of fuel mid…

I’m thinking of amicably asking Katie to keep her distance while we work this out or changing gym times all together Why would you involve her at all? This is between you and your husband and the communication needs to start with him.

No spin will not build your glutes. It will certainly build your quads! I love my muscular and strong legs and glutes....they take me far!!!

Running and Cycling outside!

Do you have stairs in your building? You could walk/run up and down them for cardio. If you get bored of that stop every so often and do like 25 or 50 squats or push ups. You could also jump squat up stairs. Exercises like mountain climbers or plank jacks. You could also work on being lighter on your feet. Have you spoke…
