I am 54 still going through peri menopause or whatever .......have just turned back on ater a very decent 90+ days. Does my body not know hoe old I am, can it just not have a rest.......... Hi I have noticed that when I attempt low carb I see a significant drop and most definitely a loss of the dreaded bloat. I do however find it difficult to sustain but I think that is my general lack of commitment and low will power at the moment. I do however keep on trying.

Losing weight does have a habbit of making your skin look 'craggy' for a while. A few people commented that I was looking too thin in the face ( politely) I usually responded by saying that I had to grow back into my face and give it a little time to catch up with the rest of me haha.:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

I actually use my cycling mitts when I do weights. It actually helped quite a bit as my hands are very soft(weak even) and it meant I could get a better grip, without slipping.

You could maybe try one and see if you like it. I normally find in order to reach my daily allowance I do not need to go low ..... on anything. If you wear the jackets that do not fasten you could maybe drape a scarf around your neck and let it hang down to hide the gap. Do not try to fasten the jacket. ?????

I only ever use Basmati and a decent portion at 250g cooked is only 380cals. I would maybe have 150g as a portion. You could always cook some up then portion it out for at least one other meal.

Home made soups, vegetable, lentil, minestrone are great, nutritious and can be quite low cal. Casseroles, chilli, bolognese are all easy to make and can be eaten with pasta, rice, potatoes, cous cous etc. jacket potato with any amount of fillings. A good start for you idea wise i hope?

Maybe give your father in law a little time then perhaps have a chat him with regards to his grandson/your son. Perhaps explain that you do not wish to lie to your son which this feels like. In the meantime you will maybe need to decide what you can say to your son. Sorry for your sad news.

Using the Haybales spreadsheet I would not lose body fat dropping my weight but it would adjust by dropping inches. A 2" loss on hips…
