  • I was also put on anti-inflamatory purpose steroids but actually lost weight. The issue for me was being prepared for the increased hunger. Not sure about long term use though. I was on them for almost a year and weaning now. I avoided taking them because of the fear of getting even heavier. I was wrong and they helped me…
  • I agree with the soup...I think being over on protein is fine. I think the main thing is to try and eat a many non-processed foods as possible, cooking nutritiuos food yourself and of course not giving up your favorites. Sometimes you can even find ways to make your favorites healthier gradually.
  • I had a c-section almost 10 months ago now and I would also say take it slow, drink lots of water and eat healthy when you are hungry. The weight will fly off naturally with breastfeeding. I fed my son exclusively and on demand and was down to my pre-pregnancy weight by 2 months and I did not go hungry and tried (and…
  • The timed goal is great...I have struggled since 2005 with getting in my water in daily. I now drink a 750 mL (24 oz.) refillable bottle at breakfast, mind-morning, lunch and mid-afternoon which is 12 cups. This is my daily minimum starting this year. Then with Supper and into the evening I drink a 1 liter refillable…
  • I have the exact same problem and agree with all the advice and encouraging words already posted. I wish I knew how to combat the reasons I often eat this way. I find it really wacky and self destructive. I looked at your diary for a couple weeks back and I think sweebum has a key point. I am no expert but have lost a lot…
  • I agree. As a person who lost a lot in the past only to gain half it back it's so not worth it. I found my habit of eating such foods began to creep and expand. From what I understand you get addicted to the sugar so to speak so it's best to try and stay on the wagon becuase it just makes things hard. I agree with eating…
  • Hi, My weight loss tips are from 2 separate weight loss Journeys I'll refer to as before and now... How much have you lost!? Before (March 2005-late 2006) I lost around 80 lbs. I gained about half this back by January 2008. Now I have lost about 9 lbs. since early January. What food do you avoid? Before I was following a…
  • Just for fun I am trying to remember to copy and paste the statement into my daily food notes so when I get 5 weeks under my belt (and after) I can look back and see for fun.
  • Deffinitely under foods as said...I'm nursing as well and logging it daily.
  • Rum & diet all the way! Vodka and diet 7-up or sprite a close second! I've also seen people down south (at resorts) order shots of vodka/white rum on ice and then add their own crystal lite from a water bottle...maybe an option for at home...lots of great flavor choices if you don't like carbonated drinks...
  • I'm in, except I'll have to use my starting weight from early January because I wasn't acknowledging the existence of my bathroom scale after Christmas LOL SW 198 lbs.
  • Wow, what a great success, I am sure you will get to your goals and love mfp
  • Very inspiring...this is one of my goals I actually need to keep in mind...fitting into my wedding rings!
  • Background: Have a chronic condition for which low fat diet is recomended...as a child I clearly remember my Dr. at the local Pediatric hospital stating "You'll never be fat". I couldn't eat chocolate, fats etc. without an episode of my ailment. I also have a grandparent who is obsessed with weight to this day in her 90's…
  • Thanks for the ideas so far! More info...I do have 1500 cal/day plus I eat my exercise calories (just talking walking with baby in hilly area-not strenuous) take postnatal vitamins daily. I guess based on the feedback I will try eating a snack right before going and then having something quick on hand for after.
  • Minera is great....after a while. I had mine about 4 months after having my son. Insertion was only slightly uncomfortable but my Dr. was super quick. I was a bad patient too because I was TERRIFIED even though I have a high pain tolerance. I had taken meds to dilate the cervix and high dose inbufrofen by prescrition…
