Great idea! Hope you decide to blog. Would also be interested to read an honest opinion of your experience. Let us know if you do!

YES! I thought the same thing - WOW, it's going to be awesome to look like that AGAIN! Then I checked flat tummy's age 28. (Sad for me). Happy for her accomplishments though, very happy! Not that I want to be 28 again. I merely accept the fact that I can be fit, trim and healthy at 47 years old (likely closer to 49 by the…

Oops, I meant my measurements are NOT changing.

I'm glad to hear others haven't lost the large lbs right off. Historically my biggest weight loss happened the 1st couple of weeks. In the past by week 3, I'd give up. I'm disappointed with the scale (no, my measurements are changing) but I'm encouraged to hear of others who kept at it for a month or more and their…

Ummm, not using the kitchen a great deal other than to grab something. I gotta start cooking folks! I do love my colored glassware, some Fenton, some modern, I have above my cabinets with lights shining on and through the pieces reflecting the shapes and colors onto the ceiling. Very calming to sit in family room and look…

Topamax greatly reduced the frequency and severity for me too. Unfortunately about a year after taking it, I went to the doc with a list of problems and she sadly shook her head and said hold on a minute. She stepped out for a reference book and came back and said, just as she'd suspected - I had to go off the Topamax due…

Don't think I've tried any of the 2nd generation TCA's but not sure. So many things over the years, really should have kept a list somewhere. I absolutely know a headache can last for months since I went through the same thing you did, at least 6 months. Butalbital reduced the severity but didn't take it away. That's when…

Is there a test for gluten sensitivity or is it an elimination process of discovery? Relpax is the one Triptan I take when I get desparate - you know, that point before you want someone to take you to the ER and knock you out or just cut your head off. Amitriptyline (originally Elavil) is something else I've tried in the…

Who doesn't love to laugh? My husband saw my screen name and said I should be SQUEALER I guess because I'm demonstrative and apparently I can't watch a movie without screaming at the startling parts and giggling at everything funny or cute; I think they're involuntary responses since half the time I don't realize I'm doing…

Love it and so true!

I've teased A LOT about missing East Texas and being transplanted to Oklahoma (Blanchard/Dibble area) but I can say this, Oklahomans LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their football. Our church even has a "Watch Party" for one of the big games.

LAUGHING! Oh, Jackal, I have some thoughts on those points but I'll keep 'em to myself since I'm personally acquainted with a particular guy’s Texas belt buckle and tight Wranglers. Ahhh, those were the days. Ummm, did I say that out loud?

Aww, you are too kind. You've made my day! I feel kind of good about ME that a stranger would perceive my personality in such a nice way and send a compliment. My family says I'm weird but they love me. And that I'm overly passionate in expressing myself to the point of being offensive at times. My heart doesn't mean to…

"And for those that ask about igloos, I tell em I have a three story igloo with a two dogsled garage." Mr. Jackal: You're either incredibly cleaver/witty or you dedicate "X" hours a day to writing/researching jokes and one-liners. I'll bet on the first possibility. My husband took an Alaskan cruise in 2006. Admittedly, I…

I hear that - my body is already pulling jokes on me and I AIN'T LAUGHIN'! :ohwell: So sorry you lost someone you loved. My husband died when I was 37 and although I've remarried a bitter-sweet pain lingers. I love this site, everyone is so encouraging and eager to help. Thanks!

Linda, yes, I love Mexican food. My husband loves Italian. I'd appreciate the recipes. Thanks!
-
Evan.... the English muffins sound good right now! Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks! A lot sounds good. I hope to avoid the tater tots, etc., only because of the saturated fat, plus I'm a carb craver. My husband could eat mashed potatoes every day. I prefer sweet potatoes or yams. Love sweet potatoe baked chips made at home. Still not sure what qualifies as lean red meat. I've always bought ground…

Dearest Jackal, LOL! I give ... Alaska indeed has the largest land mass! I've learned since being transplanted from my home state that I should clarify what part of Texas I most love because of the diverse regions and climates. A purported fact ... on March 27, 1984, the temperature in Brownsville was 106 degrees while…

Yeah, Chicago is very windy from my little experience there. My sister lived in the area for a while. Oklahoma is too windy for me. My theory is there aren't enough trees in my area of the state to block the wind. My overly hot, can't-walk-to-the-car-on-Sunday-mornings-for-church-without-getting-soaked, husband loves the…

DreamGirl - but Ireland would be interesting for a season - big difference in climate from Southern California though. Maybe you'll get back home someday. I hope I do too. Am very grateful for the husband's job, wherever it takes us!

Oops, forgot to mention I was referring to Jackal's comments about Alaska v. Texas, etc. Thanks for more giggles.

My "BellyLaugh" for the day. Laughter - good for, well, all of me!

EleonoreOU - you're right, Oklahomans are nice (except they tease me about my home state). And parts of it are absolutely beautiful. Since I love nature, I miss my land in East Texas. Beauty and wonder is everywhere though. I've made really good friends with "Lois" and her cousins. Lois is the black and yellow golden orb…

Needawaist - I hear you! This is the first time I've been able to keep a food diary too. And I've been asked to do it before not just for weight but for my migraines to see if certain foods trigger them. Thank you to (Mike, I believe that's his name) who started this site. Awesome! Yes, I'd love to be your friend. Congrats…

MyProgress2010 - well said and appreciated! No, I'm not giving up. Haven't been motivated to exercise yet BUT I have gotten out of the house and worked in the yard 2 days this week. Enough that my body ACHES! For me, those 2 days = a lot of physical exertion. I even worked in the misting rain yesterday. I'm psyched; I…

Jackal 75 - I'm giggling! Don't want to offend any Okies though. My husband's job brought us here in Dec 2006. I miss my friends, family, trees, dogwoods, roses, piney woods, azaleas - home really. Never knew how much Texas pride I had until I moved out of Texas. Thanks for the encouragement. I've completely changed my…
